And has it got anything to do with Love, or can there be a little of something else in there too?!...

    No, just love, Mick...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I’m Sure You’ll be OK with Your Sadness, I like this Carl quite dark and it somehow reminds me a little of Wales we have as a nation be accused of being dark the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas came to me while reading your poem, so I'll leave you with one of his most famous works about his Father on his death bed, do not go gentle into that good night.

“Wherever you’re going never take an idiot with you, you can always find one when you get there.”

A chicken’s eye looked at me today
    I saw him
    On the bus
    As I passed
He was caged along with a million others
I saw him look at me
    All the same
    On a truck
Bound for the market and a boiled Asian chicken dish
    I saw him look
Bound for the cosmopolitan Asian restaurant opposite the markets
    His eye looked at me
    I saw him
    Amongst those countless others
    I saw him
Crammed in their yellow plastic cages
    He looked, I saw
Stuffed on to the Mack, or Kenworth
    Or whatever it was
    He asked
    His eye looked at me
    I saw him
    He cried to me
    And I was helpless
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

    Default Another Carl Poem...

Do we ever stop to think that he/she chose to be a chicken. Before he/she came back they had a decision as to what to return as. And, yes, they chose to be a chicken. They could have been a fish, or a dog, or a person.
That's what free will is all about. This time your the bug, next time the windshield.

Haven't posted one of these for a while, this one needs some re-jigging but after a bottle of stout and a bottle of Merlot at this point it's done...

    The light and the Dove

    By Carl

    When I go a certain way;
When I do a certain thing or walk a certain way.
When I look at the light
    that comes over that field
    And lights the cut hay
    through the early morning mist
at the start of the day
I turn to my bus-travelling friend
(The one that’s left on the bus at the end of the way)
Did you see that? Do you not see? I say…
Can you see that light? Did you not even know?
What the light can do? What she can say?
What she can stir? What she can confirm you know?
That you’re a spiritual being with a heart; don’t you know?
    That your body’s a vessel, a container; a thing.
But your soul, it’s like light, it sings, it sings…
Can’t you feel that light; can’t you hear the lyrics?
You know how she speaks. You know how she frolics.
She goes just like you (if you let yourself go).
And if you can know this and if you concede.
You’ll let loose yourself; and you’ll let your body go.
‘Cause your body’s a vessel, (it’s one you well love)
But it’s one you can do without; it’s the body of a dove.

Because it’s the light; it’s the soul that you love.
Sailor, MickR, 32t and 1 others like this.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I was going to email you and ask if you had been on the wine after your post on the ersonal neck shave thread, but i dont need to now.
Nice, its a lot lighter than some,
    That you've done,
    It makes me feel light,
    And bright,
    On the inside.

Ta. I can't even remember what I said on the neck shave thread, so that's a sure indication I need to go to bed :-)
