Thanked: 485Another Carl Poem...
I killed a bird today
I didn’t MEAN to
It was an accident
Stop looking at me like that
There I was driving to work
In the sunshine
Listening to Frank Sinatra sing about
Cocaine and champagne
And there he was
A Crow
I beeped
And then felt his little body
Hit against the underside of my car
With a sickening thud
I felt sad and wrong
It’s stupid I know
To mourn his death
But I still think about him
And wish I was a Buddhist
Sweeping insects from my path
Lest I harmStranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

There's something in that poem, Carl. Specially if it is about the real life & real incident. I know the feeling.
Hope you stopped and checked it was really dead and not suffering.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

I wouldn't sweat it Carl, Crows are pretty damn tough; you probably just rolled it a few times.

While we can never really know what's going on in the mind of another, I'm sure that like people, other animals can and do take their own lives.
I've come to believe this more and more, specially at the times of seasonal changes. Ill or depressed beings just don't want to go through another season that may stress them out even more.
Your crow may have just had enough of it all, and picked you (unfortunately) to help.

A man named Carl from down under.
Made in his car a blunder.
Don't hit the bees,
the birds or trees.
It's sad when things go asunder.
Yeah, I'm drunk... time to cook some beef!Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

There was this sgt Carl from Mt. Torrens
Distant place we’ve never seen
He spent his times being so worried
about the crow that once had been
A living creature,
like we all,
Full of future and expectations
but the crash with car changed it all.
For good, might be,
but ain’t it so:
We cannot change
Those things that happened.
Sorry. One too many vodkas, watching my wife & doggie happily sleeping, or listening too much of Jussi Björkling makes rare poetic me go over the top. I promise to be good boy tomorrow.
Makes me remember when i was in the army. One night in the middle of nowhere i once crashed with a reindeer with the army truck. I remember seeing it's eyes just a second before the crash. Died at once so all i had to do was to clean all the mess from the road and call the police. They weren't interested. I didn't want anyone coming after me and hitting all those intestines and all.
I was so sorry for the idiot reindeer that died in vein. Kept me awake for long time. Still i remember the eyes.
I also called my captain and told what just happened, that i'll be little late. That damn bastard was drunk and said: f** it while it's still warm. And i said f*** you, sir.
Just a piece in my history but that must have pissed me off as i still remember that poor reindeer and the bastard captain after 20 years or so.Last edited by Sailor; 09-28-2013 at 08:26 PM.

Sorry, but I just can't write off the Crow. No body found , no death confirmed.
Long live the Crow.
