Thanked: 1936I hadn't thought about the actual lethality of Tasers until you guys mentioned it, so I googled it. There are cases of tasers being lethal, so I have to agree that you really could be more likely to end up in litigation by using a taser. Oklahoma is very gun friendly. A bad guy who is tased would most likely sue you, where a bad guy who eats a 230gr hollow point is most likely not going to be able to sue you. I thank you guys for opening my eyes a bit on a subject I didn't know much about...gonna stick with my 1911. I guess we all get silly notions once and a while & this was one of mine.

In all fairness Shooter, it was not a silly thought, tasers are heavily marketed, especially at gun shows; so there is a lot of interest in them.

Scott, I have a few friends who are prosecutors and they have no problem taking people who they think may have taken inappropriate steps with their weapons. Any weapons and including cops. Moreover, there is nothing stopping the dead persons family taking a person to court even if it was deemed a "good shoot." Though I think stand your ground laws negate civil action.
Anyway - what I am trying to get at is any time harm is done to another, even if one person is permanently silenced, the chances of being sued is actually quite high. I would price yourself some insurance. Oklahoma IS pretty gun friendly, but it's not that gun friendly.
I am not trying to be a jerk - I mean I love my guns too... I just live with a lawyer .David

Thanked: 3226Totally OT but anyone coming to our side of the border should consider that tasers and pepper spray are prohibited weapons here.

getting in shape now that's a good idea. but I watch the news a lot now and the people committing crimes now days are not strong arm bandits. they either stab or shoot you. now lets take my self in consideration. I'm 64 years old. I have survived cancer. Now lets see oh yea 3 heart tacks. both legs messed up from industrial and auto accidents. I think fist fighting is now in my history. some one once said that they had rather carry a firearm all there life and never need it as to need it and not have it. I do some training but now as much as I would like. I hope I never need this weapon but with what is out there now days I'm glad I have. It is better to be tried by 12 as carried by 6
