The Handlebar Mustache
Show us the handlebar...
I grew my first while in the army (1971-74) as a project to add to the boredom of guarding rockets and ordinance in Germany. I needed something slow to do to mark the time. It was trimmed down to a more typical lip-caterpillar for the period 1975-2013. A beard was status quo until I discovered proper wet shaving.
The handlebar returned in 2013 and, I gotta say, chicks love it, kids love it and it makes people smile. Mrs. Moo says I pull it off OK and she's good with it. I encourage all people who wish not to shave under their noses to grow a handlebar. After using Clubman I graduated to a mix of Lucky Tiger + Firehouse tacky and, finally, to a mix of Vaseline and beeswax with a hit of finely ground coffee. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.Last edited by MisterMoo; 02-11-2014 at 03:02 PM.

I dig the stache Moo! Wish I could pull that off but I catch enough hell from others for being " old fashioned ". That's right, I where a flat cap with my peacoat and drive a Buick Lucerne (black by the way ) and chug a pipe now. I just tell them I'm "traditionally cool"
Bravo I say!
Oh, what's the coffee for?

I recently shaved mine off. Got fed up with it getting in my food constantly.

I grow one for "Mustache March" in the Air Force, and when i'm deployed. Inspired by the late great General Robin Olds, who famously grew one as Commander of the "Wolf Pack" 8th Tactical Fighter Wing in Vietnam.
