I was also wondering if the Tibetan incense would be more of a pure sandalwood scent and less perfumey That is really why I got started with the incense. I have however begun to enjoy it for its own sake and may start to branch out with my scents.
It is sandalwood. And while it's not an exact match, I think you'll find it a good version of what you are looking for.

I am told that Lavender Essential Oil has a soothing and calming effect not only on humans but on animals also. Ceasar Milan the "Dog Whisperer" uses lavender oil on the handkerchiefs he ties around the necks of dogs and he also uses it on the dog beds to calm the dogs.

My current favorite is made of high-quality sandalwood, agarwood and spices.

Lavender is a sure fire recipe to bring on a major headache for me. I avoid lavender like the bubonic plaque.

    Question

I ordered these and a new burner recently. They are all quite good. The golden pavilion has a sweetness to it that the others don't. My favorite is the one to the left. Byakudan-Koubunboku. It was recommended on another forum. Supposedly more sandalwood and less spices and I would agree. I enjoy all four. Still haven't tried any Tibetan incense yet.

Those are all great choices. Baiedo and Shoyiedo are the premium stuff. Try a good aloeswood scent too if you enjoy a really deep scent.
