Incense
Anyone else enjoy the calming effects of quality incense? Here are a couple of my favorites. I'd love to know that others have great suggestions as well.

Thanked: 37Auromere has some nice scents. I like rose and sandalwood.
Arise, awake, and learn by approaching the exalted ones,
for that path is sharp as a razor’s edge, impassable,
and hard to go by, say the wise. Katha Upanishad – 1.3.14

Thanked: 983I have an absolute basket full of incense, quite literally. I'm a fan of all kinds of scents and use them for various things. I had to pick a favourite, it would be White Sage...Or maybe Sandalwood...Or Hibiscus...Or...Well You see my dilemma

I'm lucky that I don't need to buy any of those products, cause people are always telling me,
"You're very incensative John. "

Thanked: 49I've been getting into incense lately. The wife is not happy about it as she is very sensitive to things like that. I used to be the same way but it doesn't seem to bother me the way it used to.
I don't have anything special. Just a few I picked up and an Indian grocery store and one that I ordered. Mostly sandalwoods but one called pure agar wood that the wife especially hates (I love it), and one called forest. The sandal woods are Hem sandal, Mysore meditation(quite perfumey), and regular Mysore sandalwood ()the one that I ordered and my favorite.
I want to try Precious Chandan which they also have there. I was reading that Baieido Byakudan (sandalwood) Kobunboku is a very good sandalwood incense. I'm also curious about the Tibetan incenses. I wish diptyque had a Tam Dao candle. I would be all over that.Last edited by tedh75; 07-20-2014 at 01:15 PM.

I have a wide variety from cheap to local handmade stuff mate. I don't really have a favourite producer. The two best I've had, one was a high end Vanilla incense who's makers name currently eludes me, and the other which I still have some of is/was a local maker 'Ye Olde Incense Shoppe', 'Marks Bliss'. I haven't come across his incense for a while now, so I don't know if he's still doing business. He may have closed up shop. Which would be a real shame because he had some great scents, though pricey.

Thanked: 49Is golden pavilion a sandalwood scent? I was wondering if you more experienced gents have run across any incense that was more like the Tam Dao, Art of Shaving, or Proraso type of sandalwood? I like the ones I have okay, but they are not really what I had set out to find. Or barring that could you just mention what in your opinion are some of the best sandalwood scents? What makers? I was also wondering if the Tibetan incense would be more of a pure sandalwood scent and less perfumey That is really why I got started with the incense. I have however begun to enjoy it for its own sake and may start to branch out with my scents.
