Default Pocket Nines - Do They Exist?

Sure they do. I mostly prefer a .38SPL wheel gun but, sometimes, the day (or the pants) just says, "Nine!"

I love me a pocket nine. You?

Thank God you included a picture - I got the entirely wrong impression from just reading the title.

All I know about guns is this little rhyme my grandmother taught me:

"This is my rifle, this is my gun. This is for fighting, this is for fun"

I'm with you Jimbo, the title sucked me in out of curiosity. The only handgun in my collection is a Smith and Wesson 5 shot revolver that was a gift my great great grandfather received from his father when he moved out "west" from lower Canada, a very long time ago. He settled in Edmonton where my Great Grandfather and my Grandfather were born, and my mother were born. I decided that they hadn't really made it to the "west" and went the rest of the way, and have been here since '77. I got the gun given to me by my Grandfather about ten years ago. As far as I know the gun has never been fired. Neither my Grandfather or my Great Grandfather ever had any bullets for it. I haven't even bothered to look for any. It's a cute little thing.

So this would have been very early 1900s vintage? Is it a top-break model (latch at top rear of frame - grab at sides and pull up and the barrel and cylinder rotate up and forward on a hinge at bottom front? Extractor may also operate as the barrel/cylinder rotate.)

Depending on condition and if it is truly unfired, could be worth quite a lot if you choose to sell it. Could be .32 S&W or maybe .38 S&W Short (My dad had one of the .38 short models). A picture would be nice...

It is very early 1900's. It is a 32. It has a separate barrel and cylinder. It has a pivot at the front, bottom where it opens, a picture would be awesome. I will put one up the next time i get to go home. I had no idea it would saying I had it would attract any attention at all. The value of it is completely irrelevant.
