I've heard things very close to that ^^^
Glycerin is used in soaps, apparently I've washed the inside of my lungs clean. Including the smog we breath everyday. Hey! Its healthy to vape glycerin, what can I say. I feel great!!
:beer1:
Nicotine has been shown to be as harmful as caffeine. It's everything else they add into the stinkies that make them evem more addictive and harmful. I can go waaaaaay longer without a vape than I used to with a cig.
That being said, I agree and follow e-cig bans almost everywhere for one simple reason. Nicotine and caffeine ARE harmful to young children.
The best rebuildable for leaking issues, for me, is the kangertech subtanks. I have 3 of them and they are damn near bullet proof.
I'll post my graveyard tomorrow.... I figured I was pretty reasonable in spending over 3 or 4 years... but it still could have been a 20k or 30k hone.... my biggest problem is most mods are of fairly shoddy quality
I vape like I smoked. Keep it out of everybody else's nose if you can. It is harmless but some find the smell awful even though it is just in there head. The Ladies now love that I smell like cupcake instead of smoke. All the ingredients I use are food additives and perfectly safe according to the FDA and every other agency. For those who are just grossed out by the idea or have some sort of fear of it I say this > Have you ever walked into a 5 star Kitchen full of Chefs and seen any of them wearing respirators ? They are cooking with and breathing the same thing ! Do they die of cancer from inhaling in the kitchen? NOPE
The 1 exception I have found are the Diketones I mentioned in a previous post and so I eliminated them from my mixes. Yes those factory workers inhaled a powder form but it has also been proven that,,,, ahhhhhhh ,see next post :<0)
Diacetyl ( The ingredient found in some e-juice)
Diacetyl is a chemical that was found to be a prominent volatile constituent in butter flavoring and air at the microwave popcorn plant initially investigated by NIOSH. Diacetyl is also known as the alpha-diketone, 2,3-butanedione, or by its Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number, 431-03-08. NIOSH has published a comprehensive document characterizing diacetyl entitled Criteria for a Recommended Standard: Occupational Exposure to Diacetyl and 2,3-Pentanedione.
Workers in microwave popcorn manufacturing are exposed to many materials besides diacetyl. Thus, NIOSH's initial studies in a total of six microwave popcorn plants were not able to definitely determine if diacetyl exposure contributed to lung disease or was a marker for other hazardous substances that contributed to disease. Still, NIOSH studies in the initial plant documented a relationship between cumulative exposure to diacetyl vapor over time and having abnormal lung function as measured by a test of lung function called spirometry. Also, higher cumulative exposure to diacetyl in this plant was associated with having a lower level of forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV 1), an important measure of lung function. Across all six microwave popcorn plants studied by NIOSH, working as a mixer of butter flavorings and heated soybean oil was associated with higher exposure to diacetyl vapor than working in other areas of the plants. People who had ever worked as mixers had more chest symptoms and poorer lung function as measured by lower FEV 1 than people who had never worked as mixers. People who had worked as mixers for more than 12 months had more shortness of breath with exertion and lower FEV 1 than people who had worked as mixers for less than 12 months.
Subsequent studies have helped to clarify the role of diacetyl. Toxicology studies have shown that vapors from heated butter flavorings can cause damage to airways in animals (Hubbs et al, 2002). Studies in both rats and mice demonstrate that the cells lining the airways can be damaged by inhaling diacetyl vapors as a single agent exposure in both acute and subchronic studies (Hubbs et al. 2008; Morgan et al. 2008). In mice, aspiration of diacetyl alone caused a pattern of injury that replicates some of the features of human obliterative bronchiolitis (Morgan et al. 2008). These findings support the hypothesis that diacetyl vapors are an inhalation hazard in the workplace. Also, a study from the Netherlands shows that chemical workers in a plant that manufactured diacetyl developed the same type of lung disease as microwave popcorn workers (van Rooy et al. 2007 and 2009). These chemical workers had less complicated exposures than microwave popcorn workers. Overall, current evidence points to diacetyl as one agent that can cause flavorings-related lung disease. Other flavoring ingredients may also play a role.

Diacetyl is also product of fermentation and is pretty commonly found in our food source. Think Beer lol. I think its a non issue these days as not many manufacturers will put any of it in their e liquid. Tobacco has diacetyl in it too in quantities much higher than any e liquid ever had. Nobody who smoked died of popcorn lung like it was something you got instantaneously. Smoking has plenty of other poisons much worse than diacetyl. There are some maybee's out there for sure.
Well what brought the issue up was my warning about 5 Pawns. They did get busted for using massive amounts of it to enhance/sell juice. Ingesting it is one thing, working around it in a factory is another , and yes small amounts in flavoring we vape may be a non issue. Same as the cook that goes to the bathroom and doesn't wash his hands. The possibility doesn't stop people from going out to eat but if you knew about it....... :<0)
From what I have read, diacetyl levels are substancially higher that what even fives pawns puts in their juice. I don't really care. I want nicotine but want it to taste good and to not smell like a chicken coop.
I asked a buddy that makes and sells ejuice, as well as inquired about his liquids. He mentioned a few articles showing studies where the difference in particles of diacetyl are 10000 times lower in vaping than what is in cigs and something on the order of a million times lower than the factories. In regards to his juices, he said "of course, what do you think makes it taste so good."
Ejuice manufacturers are still using it, particularly buttery and creamy flavors.
Never heard the Cig comparison before and totally believe it. I have noticed though the concentrate makers are replacing or selling 2nd versions of their concentrates without it. Most of this probably driven by the DIY guys. Another trend to watch is concentrates premixed so all you have to do is add pg/vg which is almost a no brainer. Is a no brainer if you buy premixed base which comes in all the nic mg levels premade. I am really not too worried about diketones myself but I am mixing for others now too. Others willing to pay :<0) If I learn all this (and can make tasty juices) without using anything considered harmful, then I have an edge. I think another factor is the government regulations that may or may not be coming soon. IF juice is controlled like cigs then a lot of smaller companies are going to be regulated out of business or driven under ground. Anything a regulator can point at and say "that is bad for you and we have to control it to make sure the public doesn't get hurt" is not helping the industry as a whole. Or the consumer. Of course the new order president Trump just signed may have a huge impact on regulations. Sorry it just seems like you can't talk about anything these days without bringing politic into it :banghead:
Laugh at me all you want, but I HAVE walked into a room that was literally walking into a fog bank! And the smells were overwhelming. It was like walking into one of those scented candle shops. Do what you want to yourself, but dont deny that a packed room full of vape smokers is not much different from a room full of cig smoke to the nose/lungs of nonsmokers and people with COPD problems
Believe it or not but that room full of glycerin vapor was probably good for your condition. I'm not being a smartarss either, I'm dead serious. And a room full of cigarette smoke and a room full of vapor from e-cigs are worlds apart in difference. Sorry, that is just the truth. Secondly, if you were so concerned about your health, why did you stay in the room? I mean, if it was the same as if the room was on fire, in your belief, you should have ran out of there.
Magpie I don't think anybody would be laughing at someone with opcd complaining of cloud filled rooms. I am not crazy about being in that situation myself. When it comes to comparing cigs to vapor though that is laughable. PG (propylene glycol) is used as a carrier for drugs in nebulizers. In all the research I have looked at the arguments are all over the place silly.
The only facts I know of :
Ecigs have approx. 1% of the harmful chemicals in cigarettes and this could be reduced by less use of certain ingredients used to produce e-liquid.
Vaping has helped me cut my toxin intake dramatically and at the same time curbed my appetite resulting in weight loss of about 16lbs.
In this great big ugly world of hazards there are many other things that have more harmful effects on human health. Think processed food, breathing gasoline vapor as you fill up, working with wood, living near a freeway and breathing fallout from cars.
This discussion on small amounts of hazardous chemicals is laughable in itself on the grand scale of things. To be completely safe you would have to walk around in a space suit. Even then the vapor from your own farts contains methane.
You have to do your best to avoid health hazards or reduce your risk of exposure to them and That is totally up to each individual. Your should avoid room fulls of vapor, and the person who vapes should avoid cigarettes. No one is wrong here, each is just trying to justify their actions as if they really need to :<0)
Did someone say gas vapors? Whats that like? Never notice them myself. Maybe thats why my nose dont work very good any more. :rofl2:
Here is a heart surgeon who has done some science on all this. I went out and bought all the diketones I need to make my juice taste like it should now :<0)

No health risk if your standing next to someone vaping nicotine. None. There's the science behind vaping and second hand vapor.:beer1:
Hey! That reminds me, I haven't had a good plug of Copenhagen in decades. I think I'll indulge myself!! Thanks Addison!!!:matrix:
Chaw gives me the hiccups. Couldn't Cope :<0) And I mean terminal hiccups.
Sometimes, I get the hiccups from vaping. Dunno why....
Funny thing there dinnermint, certain juices give me hiccups as well. Also when I hit my smoker a few times real quick after eating I get them to
I found too much Nic makes me hiccup. Found this out when smoking cigars. Thought maybe it was just not enough o2 and too much Nic. Just guessing but it seemed right to me.
Got a starter kit on the way. Aspire X30 Rover and some black note forte juice tobacco flavour, has good reviews.
Our acehole government has been whacking 10% tax on cigs every 6 months for a couple or 3 years now. Costing me $25 a day. Tried patches and gum, nothing seems to work. Hoping to kick it with this.
Good luck and Vaping will help you out. And it's no where near as toxic to you.
I am not sure how vaping can help. But I am much interested to try there instead of smoking. But my confusion is are they good and healthy?
UK health board are recommending people move from smoking to these. One of my boys has successfully given up nicotine altogether using one. Two of my daughters are now using them.
I am hoping to quit the cigs and save enough money to get a decent pouch of pipe tobacco to post in the "Pipe of the day" thread and show off all the pipes I have collected...Ironic much..
Pretty happy with the e cig so far. Got 18 mg juice which seems quite harsh, makes me cough. May have to try the 12 mg.
Down to about 5 cigarettes a day. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to kick the habit. Bit of an out lay to start, but have near saved that already not buying the stinkies. Worst thing is when it goes flat, already looking at another mod. Any recommendations?

Grazor, may I suggest a mod that is a 2 or 3 battery box. Your mod is a very low wattage model. Higher watts may smooth out the juice you are using. Then you can begin to step down when you believe that you're ready.
I use a Reulax and so does my other half. They are reliable and you can vary in a wide range of wattage. You will also need a different tank for the higher wattage. I don't think the coils for that one will be able to go very high
I always end up coughing in the morning after my first few vapes. I guess my lungs need to get prepped for a day of chain vaping. Coughing goes away for me after the first few inhalations.
2nd on the Reulax, they are beasts! I have one but never use it, I don't use or need the power it can supply. Highly configurable too.
Like the idea of the separate battery . Well I looked at the glycerine I use with some soaps. Pharmaceutical grade vg. Added a little to some of the black note tobacco flavor, much smoother. After visiting numerous websites on the subject, looking at mods and juice, it appears to be as big a rabbit hole as the razor world.

Yes sir it is a very big and deep rabbit hole.
But once you find what you like, the spending decreases massively..........yup kinda like razors.
Well maybe :roflmao
But the separate battery is a big plus, you can carry spares with you
Best of luck and I'll give you any help I can
I'm mainly a single replaceable battery guy. But just bought the "alien" kit, by smok. It is a dual battery mod, but they are in series. All the bang, but not great life. If you are looking for long life, check that they are in parallel.
I wouldn't recommend going to too high of extremes with 18nic. My first suggestion is to go to 12 and go up in power/down in resistance.
I have been off the "Stinkys" for several years now. It is good to be rid of the cigarette cough and to be able to taste my food again. I have weaned myself down from 18mg nicotine to my current 3mg nicotine. I plan to soon be vaping at 0mg nic . I build my own clapton coils for my rda's and mix my own liquids. Made 100ml of "Mothers Unicorn Milk" today. The device on the table is a Releaux Rx300 with a Goon rda sporting dual clapton coils at .18 ohms and 40 watts.
