    Default E-cigarettes

For many years I was a fairly heavy smoker. I couldn't stop no matter what I tried. About 14 months ago I tried an electronic cigarette. Within a week, I'd stopped smoking tobacco and have never looked back.

Medically, the jury is still out on the e-cigs. Are they better for you than tobacco? Worse?

I know I feel better for stopping tobacco smoking. I don't wheeze like I did, I don't get out of breath so easily and I don't smell like a dirty ashtray!

    Your thoughts gents?

Just about anything that can get you off tobacco is good as long as you are not trading one dangerous crutch for another.
As you write,...the jury is still out on E-cigarettes.

I suspect as they do more study they will find the E types are better than regular cigarettes but still not good for you.

They way I look at it smoking is like russian roulette so once you put the gun down your longevity increases right away. Of course you can't do anything about all the poison that is in the makeup of your body from all the years of smoking however stopping can only be good for you as opposed to continuing.

I was a smoker for about 28 years and decided to quit about two months ago. I tapered my regular cigarettes consumption and then transitioned to e-cigs but used a juice that had zero percent nicotine. After a week on the e-cig, I was able to quit completely.

I still smoke, but have cut down by around half over the last year with e-cigs. Mainly i was just smoking at work and on the e-cigs the rest of the time, but i am finding myself creeping back more lately.

I switched from cigars to e-cigs. I've read quite a bit about them and haven't seen much to suggest anything being even as close to as harmful as cigarettes.

I quit smoking the old fashioned way. My track record with aids has been I get addicted to those, try and quit the aid and go back to smoking. I have a few buddies who have stopped smoking and gone the way of E cigs and their overall health seems better. I just find it disconcerting that the powers that be have deemed them a nuisance as they have been included under the same restrictions as cigarettes in my area.

Coming up on one year for me using the e-cigs, still use it with a coffee in the morning and maybe after dinner, but don't bring it with me anymore when I go out, and I felt the benefits within two weeks. BP down, my wind is up, and the one thing I notice - smoking cigarettes makes you stink, I'm shocked at how much I didn't realize how much they stank.

I never had a plan to give up smoking, my plan was to take the first step and do some "harm reduction", not inhaling 800 degree burning smoke filled with how many unknown chemicals is a good idea no matter what way you look at it.

The amount I use my e-cig now, maybe I'll give it up one day, but not the top of my to-do list. Took me awhile to get used to, but one of the best things I ever did.

My daughter just bought me one to help me consider giving up the cigs and gars.
I will admit, the hit from it is different, but similar to a smoke. My juice has nicotine in it and the first haul made me cough actually. Weird that it feels cooler, temp wise as you exhale in the car. Wife much prefers me using this in the car, smells way better.
Too soon to tell if it will be enough to put me in a quitting state of mind, but it's replaced the car smokes so far.
Hearing more of your stories gives me some optimism.
    Cheers.
