I have a strong love-hate with the world of documentaries. I miss the old history channel days of learning about history. I recently went on a cooking documentary bender, but I fail to remember their names except "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" Pretty eye opening of how far and seriously people can take something. I try to avoid political/topical documentaries, it's absurdly easy to edit something to back your viewpoint.

I usually don't give documentaries their due, but someone did talk me into watching this—which I'm glad they did.

Doesn't get any more awesome than this.

I love the modern day documentaries with hope in them. Starting to see more and more. Why ? I think these guys with unlimited wealth (especially new money) are waking up to the fact that they live on the same planet as the rest of us. The old money families helped get us into this mess, lets pray these guys can help turn things around.

Yeah, I watched the whole thing. Many good ideas there. On a very small planet where 1% of the population retain 49% of the wealth it is great to see someone who realizes money won't save you...

Water's Journey is a good one, especially if you are a diver. I had a chance to spend a few hours with Jill Heinerth a few years ago. Very engaging and intelligent conversationalist.

Thread caught my eye this morning,,,

I have a friend up here in Idaho that just began filming about the Re-Introduction of wolves into WY, MT, ID in the 90's and the decimation of the Elk Herds, and the un-controlled expansion of the wolves into other western states..

Pretty interesting to follow his progress from his FB posts, gives a different perspective about what it takes to get a Documentary up and running..

That reminded me, we have/had (not sure on current status of this) an issue with wolves here in WI. A couple years back a few farmers were trying to get permission to shoot wolves found on farmland. Most of the things I found are a few years old, but would probably be an interesting watch/read. Second video is probably a little more on the biased side since it was sponsored by "friends of the wisconsin wolf"
