Those things look nasty, like ticks for bees.

I pulled what will probably be the last of my honey for the year today. I will have to decide in the next week if I want to keep all 3 hives left to winter over before I start feeding them.

I treated for mites the first time today and it was a learning experience. I used mite away quick strips and one thing that I didn't read in the directions is that the cover better be put on the hive quick. The bees started boiling over the top of the hive.

I hope I didn't drive the queen up and out.... It took me a hive and a half to figure out what was going on. Long story.

Until this thread, I always thought Bee Keeping was an easy relaxing hobby, boy was I wrong. I hope you hang in there & keep the Bee's for years to come.

I will hang in there . Thanks. I hope that I haven't scared you off from any interest in bees. I am trying to show my problems and mistakes along with the enjoyment.

Next time you go to buy a pound of honey I think you will understand the amount of work/thought/learning that went into harvesting it!
