Thread: 2016 Fly Fishing and Fly Tying

Do any of you guys fly fish and/or tie?

I'm fairly obsessive about fishing, but with a 19 month old in the house I do a LOT of tying, and besides hosted trips and teaching schools for work, my fishing is primarily warm water stuff in close proximity to Memphis....especially high pressure public ponds. (Thank God for Montana work trips and lodges in Kentucky..haha)

Nothing like sticking fish somebody else couldn't convince to eat! Far and away my favorite fish to chase this year has been koi, but I absolutely love tying bass flies. And I just finished my first rod! Here's some of the stuff I've been working on.. If the bird flies seem weird, be rest assured.. The bass around here are big enough that they eat baby woodpeckers and duckling pretty regularly! How's y'all's 2016 season going so far?
