I had a box full of police trade in SIG's, so now all my buddies have some too.

Purchased my first pistol in 96. SIG P229 in .40

Love it, but I find it is difficult to shoot fast in my hands.

I'm prefer a much lower bore axis for rapid fire, other than that, the pistol is a certified tack driver when shooting singles.

    Update:

Took the new p229 .40 cal. to the range yesterday with a 200 round range pack of Winchester 165 grain target loads. Shooting this pistol must be comparable to driving a Rolls Royce. Wow! Felt, handled and shot awesome both indoors and outdoors. Much exceeded my expectations. Definately my best piece. Recently ordered a Stealth Gear IWB breathable holster and I'm glad that I did. This will definitely be my cool weather/winter carry piece.
The only problem is slightly sore thumbs from so much reloading. Gotta get a speed loader!

Did you get the .40 or the 9mm?

.40 ammo is heavier than 115gr, which is what generic 9mm bullets weigh.

The Sig is .40 cal. I was shooting my 9mm too. 115 gr. might have been for the 9mm. I'm nowhere near home to check right now. I get my ammo for the range at WalMart. Winchester in the white box. Preferably range packs if available.

Ah, that makes sense. 9mm range ammo is 115gr.
    The 40 was probably 165 or 180gr.
