Thanked: 41How about an SRP coat of arms?
I'm an heraldist - a lover of heraldry. My own coat of arms is "gonna happen soon" - like that novel your cousin is writing
Joke aside, I encourage everybody to get a personal coat of arms. And SRP could get a corporate one.
In the USA, organizations can freely assume arms. Registration in a private register is suggested, but very optional.
How do you guys feel about that? We can discuss the design and I have a buddy who can draw it well.
Inspired by the current logo, I'd suggest 'Sable, a straight razor folded chevron-wise, in base a badger brush Or' - which translates as "on a black background, a yellow badger brush at the bottom of the shield, a straight razor folded like in the logo (but symmetric) also yellow"
Alternatively,
"Azure, a straight razor and a barber's strop in saltire Argent", which translates as "on a blue background, a straight razor and a a strop as a X, both white"

Thanked: 3795Well, it already has a logo, so I doubt this will get much traction. I could be wrong though.

Help me understand what a coat of arms is for and why is it important that you have a personal coat of arms?
The reason that I ask is because I have no knowledge of these things. Please advise...Semper Fi !

At one time the common folk were identified by first name only. So you were John son of Sam. It got pretty confusing and then the ruling class started taxing folks and they need real names. In most cases they just took the name of the local Lord or Baron or whatever.
So, the bottom line is, unless you can trace your lineage to an ancestor of the actual royalty the coat of arms relating to that name has absolutely nothing to do with you.
There are outfits making big money "researching" coats of arms and if they can't find one the make one up for you. I guess you can create one for yourself and have it copyrighted and then it's yours for your family from that point on but what does it really mean? Then also your descendants would have to trace their lineage to you.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
