I got an odd wife. See loves vacuum cleaners. All the floors in my house are always clean. And we always take our shoes off when entering the house. Although she love her cats so i think its more to get up cat hair. I say odd because i have a split level house. So 3 levels. Each level has a vacuum cleaner and she also has one for my garage. She vacs my garage once a month.
    Crazy old lady!

Good luck on the irobot vac. If i got one for my wife it would be like taking her fun away.

We have a whole house system it's mounted in the garage, so very handy and does a great job, my wife is a very clean freak. It's not taking away from her fun, she has medical issues now, so its hard for her to keep up with her everyday vacuuming. It's bothering her that she can't everyday. Like I said before I wanted to get her a maid but that goes against her way of doing things, so this is to alleviate some of the heavy work.

I Set it up and sent it for doing its hing and sure enough it got all the areas it would fit into, no grass or debris in the main walkways and the best part was all the furniture it went underneath of , plus the beds. Sure does work, as clean as this house is I still had quite a bit in the container to dump out, so far my 800$ investment is doing well. Tc

Tc - check out neato connected vacuum.
They constantly evolve and work ok, with the connected ones you can schedule them to run at certain times. Ninja/Shark launched their new version of a robo-vacuum recently. Lots of reviews on YouTube.

Good to hear. Glad the irobot worked well for ya. At that price i think id want it to bring me a beer too.
And sorry to hear about the wifes medical issues. Hope things turn around for her. I didnt know those whole house things worked very well. Wondered about those. Although im not ripping up walls to install one. If i was having a house built i might think about one of those.

OH ya they work, the suction from these whole house units is deadly. Ya unless you have basements and service chases, it's not practical in an existing home. We have had them in our last 3 homes and it will be n this next one we're going to be starting soon. So far no portable vacuum I've seen can do wha these things can,, the motor on thus thing is huge, you can't carry it around with you. Makes for a nice garage cleanup or car vac.

Neehoya, this new 980 is connected also, we put the app on her phone, then went out to the farmers market, as we were driving she hit the clean button, we got home it was just finishing up. Now we have it set up for auto clean at night. Tc

We have roomba and I suggest getting the 890 or even the 860, i think it will be good enough. We have a Roomba 890 which cleans after our chow's fur-falls. We used to own a Roomba 650 with brush and it is just too much of a hassle when it comes to maintenance.

This is my concern as I have a long haired "German Shedder" aka German Shepherd that stays inside at night. Our house is laminated floors throughout, but I have held off because I know how any brushes would get hair all up in them.

Appreciate the advise my friend but we wound up with the 980. Now after 2 cleanings I,m amazed by he amount of dirt this hing us picking up, yet the house looks as clean as ever. Like Phrank said we got up this morning and the floors were all shiny and clean, those little rubber bars must polish the wood a little. Tc

Neato Botvac is a superb robot as well. It has absolutely no trouble with hairs. But currently thinking about something new. What could advise from the list Best robot vacuum 2017: 16 reviews of popular robot cleaners
