Thanked: 46High end watches
OK so this is a different type of question. I was wondering for all of you that do wear these high end watches has there ever been an issue with getting unwanted attention from wearing them. I am in the market for one but I'm not super sure that this would be a good idea. Im still trying to find some answers on this. thanks all for your information.

For the most part most people do not even notice my Rolex submariner. Once in a great while I will have somebody ask me about it that is about it.
Have a great shave.

Most don't give a hoot about the watch you wear with two exceptions. If you wear some gaudy piece with gem stones or way out design and the other exception is Rolex. Everyone knows Rolex and people will stare and it will be a theft magnet depending on where you go.

Mine says Beverly Hills Polo Club. Bet 8t was about 10 to 15 bucks. Ive changes batteries twice now and it keeps working. Scatched all the hell but its thin and dont have numbers. I know what number goes where so i dont like numbers on my watch. When tbis one dies ill get another thin cheap watch. I just like to know what time it is. I think when im in the truck there is 8 clocks in the cab but i still ware a watch. Go figure that one out.

Most people who have always worn a watch will tell you they feel naked without their watch on.

This is my two sense. If you are going somewhere that is not a great neighborhood then don't were your nice watch. I personally would not go some were questionable in the first place. I were my Rolex all the time and have never had a problem. But I do not flaunt it at all.

I'll tell you this. I've been collecting watches for 30 years and most watch brands including names like Patek which are far better watches than Rolex are unknown by the general public. Everyone knows Rolex though and someone out for no good is attracted to that name.
I've heard of stories where someone takes a watch off someone looks at it and throws it on the ground thinking it's junk when it's a 30 grand watch but they'll kill you for the Rolex.
Just keep in mind there are many many outfits out there making watches the equal of Rolex or better at cheaper prices. The main reason to buy a Rolex is if you are considering selling in a few years you will lose little or nothing or make money on it depending on how long you have it and the model. In general with watches you lose big time when you sell.
Of course the main reason to buy any watch is because when you put it on it "speaks to you". That's the bottom line.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
