Getting invested lol.
Spent last weekend and today clearing this area. Going to put in a raised bed and next year, I'll be teaching the kids about growing.

Well we are for sure packed up and shut down for the fast coming winter
We put in the Garlic so hopefully, that works out for next years growing season
Glen's Almost Acre :p is plowed under and we have a huge Burn pile stacked up ready for a good Bonfire, it has finally rained a bit so we might light it off for Halloween Night
Looking forward to next year
Hope your garden does better next year!
Well I finally got around to tearing out my sole roma tomato plant. I still can't believe how much it produced! I swear that if there was an ounce there was at least 50#'s :gaah:

I did find some green ones without the start of decay so I'll be giving fried green tomatoes a go. I've never had them but I'm game.
I saved a couple of the bigger red ones that are starting to rot to see if I can get some seeds to grow next year. From what I've read you have to let the toms completely rot as the seeds have a protective coating that keeps them from sprouting and the acid that the decay produces removes that protective coating.
Anyway it won't hurt to try. :tu
the yard guy is coming Friday to cut back all the bushes and get the yard ready for winter.
I am having him put a yard of potting soil in my 4x30 raised bed. This should bring the level up to 4 inches below the top rail.
Next year I am keeping the pepper plants apart. I think they cross pollinated. The habaneros are not that hot but the jalapenos will light you up. Hottest ones i ever ate.
The pepper/vinegar bottles Bon made for the meet should be ready now. I used some of mine the other night and it has a real fire for such a small bottle.
Also, I am ordering new seeds this year. I used the same packets the last two years but think new seed would be better. No reason for this, just something to do.
Well I figured that the tomatoes were rotted enough to remove the protective coating on the seeds. I sure wasn't looking forward to opening the bag.:gaah:

Anyway I survived the stench and have some seeds washed, patted dry and air drying as I type. One thing to note is that these Roma Plant's fruits didn't have very many seeds at all compared to other fruits called Roma that I've seen.
Being that they are a Hybrid I don't know what they'll do next year. They may not even sprout and if they sprout they may not make fruit or the fruit may not be anything like the original I planted. So we shall wait and see.
