He's gonna 'pimp' the old MG! :D
As you said it is a Franken ride now.
Make it yours!
Started into some sanding and probing the panels, and decided to disassemble the bonnet halves. The right side was modified to accommodate the bigger H6 SU carbs sticking out of the 2.0 engine in a way I didn’t really like so figure start the deep work where I will be spending the most amount of time.
Fiberglass and unnecessary reshaping, IMO.

My plan is to rebuild the louvre vents, in their entirety, then add smaller circular cut outs for a pair of chrome ram horns, or inlet trumpets as they are sometimes called to stick out the side, like a Morgan look sort of.
Then I Put the upper bonnet back on the car so I can keep her Mobil as long as I can.

Kinda dig the look with the sides open, sort of rat racer style.
Cheers.
Fired up Noddy and took her out for fresh petrol and to scrape off the drum rust.
She woke up well for 69 yrs young.
Was chatting in the winter with SU users about options to get my induction system back inside the original lines of the TD engine cowl.
Seems I have HD6s not HS6 su side draft carbs on my tr3 engine.
The HS6 is a newer narrower carb, throat wise. As seen below in the picture a friend sent of the two carbs together.

They may gain me the inch or so I need to close my hoods without any great converting hurdles.
May still need to modify the air filter design and shave the intakes some. But it’s all up for consideration now, if I can find a half decent set of HS6 carbs.

I don’t need a lot..
If I have to self isolate this summer, this car will be torn down sooner than later for her much desired face lift.
Sadly Moss just shut down for the pandemic duration so that sorta sucks. I respect the decision and all but dang. Where do I get my parts now?.
Anyway, stay safe and stay busy men..

Seems to me that I remember some flared wing UK open tops like Singer's and Morgan's etc having 'shaker bubble ' protrubances poking through the bonnet side. I have to think that the mod of yours is not the first of its type.
May you have great luck finding parts and carbs!
Richard
I am glad you are staying busy Mike. Hopefully you can find parts to order that can be delivered.
Here’s a picture that keeps me inspired.

Mine shall be more like the one on the right, one day..
The one on the left looks great, but I’d never be able to light a smoke!
And a great vid I thought I’d share.

I absolutely LOVE how the young man bought his second car--the owner accepted his offer and signed the deal with them slapping hands together! Then delivered the car to the young man the next day.
I was raised that if a man would screw you on a deal that was settled with a hand shake then the same guy would figure out a way to screw you by signing his name on a piece of paper.
Much to our surprise we came across a Bentley car club tour on the Icefields Parkway, HWY 92, between Banff and Jasper. IIRC they came from all over the world to run Vancouver to Alaska. Most were the vintage of the ones in the linked video. What a sight and what a sound they made. The owners were a pretty friendly bunch too. Highlight of the trip for me.

Always been a fan of Bentleys as well Bob.
The sound,, the style, the whole evoked feel of class and non hurried excellence.
“Settled” for my MG as I don’t dance in Bentley owners circles, and am unlikely to ever possess my own.
Did however get to ride in one, once..

My father in Law, may he always live in my sons smile, asked if I’d prefer a Rolls, or a Bentley to carry my bride on her magical day.
My choice was easy..
