I went to the junkyard today looking for the exterior door sweeps, the Door seal that goes around inside the door jam, and possibly a replacement plastic Bezel that goes around the stereo, heater controls, and window controls.
I walked out of there in 30 minutes with all the parts I was looking for. Total was.....
43 Bucks!
I even got all 4 exterior sweeps for the door windows.
What a day. I saved a bunch of Folding Money!

After finding all the parts I was looking for I went home and started swapping parts.
The armrest/storage for change and other small things had broken plastic so it wouldn't latch. I got a used one that looked new and with changing 3 screws it was good to go...
Then I removed from the dash and took apart the trim/Bezel that goes around the heater, stereo, window controls. The one I picked up at the junkyard was for a newer model so the controls were not the same except for the Window switches. So I swapped out the controls and reinstalled it. Now there are no more cracks or cig burns or paint chips...

Next, I went after the Door seal and window exterior sweeps. It takes a screwdriver to remove the sweeps. Just pry up in the middle from the outside with the windows down and they come right out with a little force. New ones just clip right in place...
A great day for sure! It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4826I couldn’t find much with a rudimentary search. It’s a US call sign is about all I could find.
Maybe if I was better with Google. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I'd be interested too in what someone might find.
I searched for my call and Google came up with it being my vanity call, My name Jerry King, and my original call. QRZ came up too but no personal info. I also came up with a Twitter and another account that has nothing to do with me. That was odd.Last edited by Gasman; 04-01-2022 at 03:35 AM.

Thanked: 315That is great. When you asked about finding parts I figured you either didn't have a lot nearby or they didn't have what you needed Glad you found one. Gonna pull glass later when your hand is better?

I just searched, I haven't found your plate but I did find this that might interest you Jerry.
"This, don't forget - getting a name and address from a license plate alone is nearly impossible for the average civilian. Getting it from a callsign is one fcc search away".- - Steve
