I bet if hotdogs were as rare as caviar they would enjoy the same popularitiy and be in the same price range. Just the fact that something is cheap 'n easy to make does not mean you can'tenjoy it as much as something rare & expensive.
If Cohiba quality tobacco could be produced anywhere in the subtropics they would be priced as cigarettes and cigarettes would be a niche market product.Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr.

Not a lot of good dog places around here either. but....
Hit the A&W grab a couple of chilly dogs with mustard some rings and a quart of root beer then go eat while watching a little league game on the diamond at the American legion. Small town Friday night, an experience to remember.

Not much in my area. I do like some venison kielbasa tossed on the grill, bit of horse radish and brown mustard, yum. I think I will get a pack out of the freezer for this weekend.

Some of the best hot dogs I ever had were made by a local meat cutter who took some deer meat and made hot dogs for us. A few were stuffed with jalapeno cheddar, some stuffed with cheddar, and some plain. They were AWESOME.

I've found Hebrew National to be almost the best mass produced hot dogs I've tried. They have larger size (not really huge but second largest). Probably the best mass produced hot dogs I've tried were from omaha steaks. I'd never again buy their "steaks" but their hot dogs were really good.

Thanked: 416It's amazing how the word hot dog can bring back things we haven't thought about in years; 4th of July with the family, days spent by the lake. That one special game just you and your dad. It may just be a humble hot dog but they are one of the finest things in life.

We typically buy Hebrew Nationals when buying grocery store dogs. They're a bit pricier than, say, Ball Parks, but they're worth the extra in flavor. I think they're best when cooked over a hickory grill served with an icy wheat beer.
The best dog I've had was at a little hole-in-the wall bar in Cookeville, TN. They were larger than most I've had, and they'd been boiled in beer. Man, they were good.

Thanked: 416This is Doc's wife. Now I really like hot dogs but I like mine two different ways......either just ketchup and nothing else or mustard, chili, & onions and that's all. I like my hamburgers the same way but never ketchup.
Never thought I would marry a woman that would eat Ketchup on a dog EEEEWWWWWW !!!!! But life is funny sometimes.
