In a quick practice on expert I got maybe 70%? don't remember tho full speed too. BUT if you take in to account how many notes there are i missed a hell of a lot. If i were to play an actual run id fail at like 2%. I highly recommend rockband though, the drums are fun and the band dynamic brings it to a whole nother level!

I get grief from my beloved about playing games. I've had to promise repeatedly "I will not sign up to WOW" So I have my PS2 and a few PC games to keep me happy and I try to play while he's out so it's not an issue very often, apart from when I'm playing on the PC and he wants to use it
You have my deepest sympathy fellas.

Jeeze, you're insane dude. I can wipe it out on hard, but expert is nuts. Me and a buddy did it on battle the other day and I was having a hard time of it anyway. If it hadn't been battle, I would've failed it several times. It's about the only song I can't do on expert though, so that's a plus. The funny thing was though, we both immediately broke a sweat trying to play it. That song is just torture!
As an aside, have you noticed your guitar going haywire? Mine is on the fritz, but I've pretty well tracked it down. Their new way of building the guitar by having the removable neck means new contacts that eventually get rubbed away. The main contact in mine that registers hammer ons and chords has a hole straight through it. I'm debating on how I can fix it without spending $60 on a new one that's just going to do the same thing...
Silver, your man has a problem with you playing games? I know a dozen guys that would kill for any girl in their life to play games Recently SWMBO told me someone hooked her on WoW and she wanted to know if her laptop (an old mac) would play it. I said "nope, and a good thing too". That game is like internet forums on crack- so addictive and time consuming. What kind of games do you like?

Thanked: 3Personally I'm not too fond of consoles. Pretty much just a very underpriced Mac - the hardware and software are all installed, and you can't modify/upgrade them. Well I mean you could upgrade them, but it would void your warranty, or in the case of Xbox 360, you wouldn't be allowed on Xbox Live.
At least on the PC, not only can you customize the PC to the way you like it, but the controls are perfect! The only thing better is the wiimote. The wii itself is pretty good since it offers a different game genre than the other consoles.
I haven't bought a game or really gamed in a while. Really like the [i]Need for Speed[i] series. I don't have the latest one though, but I heard it was pretty bad, so I might not get it at all. Last game I purchased was Need for Speed: Carbon, but I haven't even started that since I haven't finished Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and carbon is sort of like an extension on the storyline of most wanted, I heard.
I have played Gears of War, both against someone and part of the storyline. Great game! I'll have to purchase it for my PC. My friends, who had been playing it for a while, was absolutely amazed at my skills. The most memorable comment was, "Wow! This is why you're going into physics 2 honors..." It had something to do with getting an optimal angle so I could kill a bunch of stuff and not be in harm's way, and something he considered to be quite difficult.
I also want to get into Guitar Hero, but nobody I know is the same level as me. I've only played twice, but the times I've played, my friends say I'm better than they were when they had as little experience as me. Kinda hard to get into that game alone, especially if you don't have it. Even on GH3 where you can play against other people on different levels, it's not quite the same because one person is trying to get into it and develop skills, while the other is improving. Way past that stage...
But anyway, I do plan on buying a bunch of games at some point. So far I've had to make a list containing:- Call of Duty 4
- Doom 3
- Quake 4 (and the original Quake)
- Duke Nukem
- Duke Nukem Forever (when it comes out)
- Bioshock
- Half-Life 2
- Gears of War
- Wolfenstein 3D
- World in Conflict
Oh, the most recent thing I'm doing related to gaming is trying to resurrect my SNES. I have to get some adapters so I can hook it up to my monitor and PC Speakers. Thinking about getting more controls as well, and definitely checking eBay for more games I can get.

I'm not big into consoles either, but the Wii was just too good to pass up. Did you get NFS:Carbon for Wii? If so, do NOT delay and play that freakin' game right away! The controls for that game alone make me extremely excited for future games like it. For a game released shortly after the Wii itself, they did an amazing job on it.
I will say though that I'm slowly getting hooked on the PS3. I've been hooked on the Metal Gear Solid series since Sons of Liberty on PS2, and I've rented MGS 4. It is a seriously stunning piece of art and entertainment. I'm looking forward to similar offerings on the PS3, especially if they come out with Star Wars.
It sucks to be a Guitar Hero newbie. The best I can say is find it at Wal-Mart or wherever you buy games at and practice every once in a while. Get going on Medium and stay at it until you can wail on any song. Moving up to hard brings in the 5th or orange button, and that's one of the hardest things to get down as a newbie. Keep at it though- once you pick it up, you can beat all your friends' scores and laugh it up!
You obviously like FPS games- Call of Duty 4 is a great choice. That game is entirely and completely addictive and fun. Even the single player campaign follows a great story, which is unheard of in FPS gaming.

Thanked: 3No, Carbon for the PC. Don't have the wii, but definitely want one. I can imagine it to be a truly unique and entertaining experience, lol.
I can imagine myself really getting into Metal Gear Solid series. The idea of sneaking has always intrigued me. I have Hitman: Blood Money, and I love killing without being detected by blending in. Sneaking around instead or blending in sounds just as fun if not more so. Guess that's another thing to add the list, lol.
I've played a few Star Wars games on Xbox. I particularly like Knights of the Old Republic. Love the storyline, and the gameplay was pretty good. KOTR 2, on the other hand, I didn't get really into. What turned me off was the storyline making it seem like all the work you did in KOTR totally pointless. Although my brother, who has progressed quite far in it, claims that you can change the storyline, and he's urging me to give it a second try.
Fable is another excellent game. I got into that game real easily. Great gameplay and storyline.
For Guitar Hero, Medium is where I'm starting at, and I get about 90-95% of the notes. The fifth button is kind of intimidating to me. I mean I play the guitar and going up and down on a fret board is nothing new, it's just I didn't really find playing Guitar Hero to be similar to playing a guitar...
Call of Duty has been suggested to me since the second version. I have a friend who absolutely loves the series. Every time it's like, "Berticus, get COD2," then "Berticus, get COD3," now there's a TON more people who are like, "Berticus, get COD4!!!" Looks like that will have to be the next game I purchase.
Oh, also I was hoping to get into Halo 3, but I was highly disappointed back when I heard that it was going to be released for only the Xbox360. I know people may not agree with me here, but I actually quite liked Halo's storyline. I didn't mind the cliff hanger at the end of the second one too much until I heard the last part is only for the 360. Guess I won't finish it...

I never played the KOTR games- I'm looking for Battlefront 3 to come out. It hasn't been officially announced, but the rumors are pretty strong. Really, I don't much care for video game stories too often as I'm a social gamer, though MGS4 is really spellbinding. They've done a great job to almost trick you into not realizing all the story components. A lot of it is just that I'm used to games with terrible plot lines, so give me action or give me death
Yeah, you can be a great guitarist and be terrible at Guitar Hero. The only thing I found that translated well was stretching your fingers. Even Slash, one of the greatest of all time, said GH was tough to learn. What I did (and it seemed to work well) is to go to hard and start with easier, ie slower, songs and get used to even looking for the orange button.
I was pretty disappointed in Halo. It can't be that I don't like futuristic type stuff because I loved Killzone and of course Star Wars Battlefront...I just never liked it. Part of it could be that the Xbox controller is like handling a brick with buttons. The Wiimote is definitely where it's at. Even as a first try in the motion category, it is brilliant. I'm looking forward to more action games that are designed for it, not to mention flying games. My favorites so far are NFS Carbon, Godfather, and Resident Evil:Umbrella Chronicles. Resident Evil is just like all the other ones except that it's on rails, so it acts just like one of the arcade machines.
