I love garlic. I used to take a clove and press it and throw it into a glass of fresh carrot/celery/beet juice. I also used to saute whole clove sliced in olive oil and pour it over penne & broccoli. Now I have gall bladder problems so I have had to limit what I can eat trying to avoid removing the darn thing.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hey Wayne:
I tried this but I think I let the garlic slices brown too long. They ended up being coffee brown and were crisp as can be. They were tasty, but actually a bit on the bitter side. I crushed them up, added a pinch of salt and mixed in some ground hot pepper I had around. Great topping for pizza!!
I'll try browning them less and see if that takes some of the bitterness out of the equation.

I like garlic in sauce, soup, pizza, ...
Unfortunately, my wife doesn't like me to eat it because I sweat it out over the next couple of days, smelling less than pleasant.
It wasn't too bad before we got kids. But ever since she was pregnant, her sense of smell (and revulsion to certain smells) has increased by an order of magnitude.
It's gotten so bad that I cannot eat some of my favorite soups or pizzas without sleeping in the doghouse for a whileTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I too am a big fan. One of my favorite recepies is for 60 clove chicken...the house smells great for a week.
One of the many benefits of garlic that I greatly enjoy given the amount of time I spend in the woods, it is a natural insect repellent. If you have enough garlic in your diet, most mosquitos and ticks will not come near you (unfortunately it does not seem to repel biting flies). I should warn that conversely, there are foods that will draw insects to you in droves (the worst by far is bananas).
Just another data point,
Ed

Thanked: 4Chris L:
I usually use fairly low heat to avoid over browning the garlic. Remove it when it's just starting to get lightly tanned.

Thanked: 586I love garlic. Being of Italian ancestry it is probably a genetic thing. If you find yourself in San Francisco, be sure to hit The Stinking Rose - A Garlic Restaurant Located in San Francisco & Beverly Hills
