Thanked: 556I don’t think you will have to work too hard. Feed the pup; walk him and make sure he pees and poops OUTSIDE and then let him sleep the rest of the day. You’ll both love it.

Thanked: 1936I recently bred my female German Shepherd to a nice looking German Shepherd fellow on the 11th, so sometime around January 13 I should have lots of little bundles of teeth!

Ha, DZEC! I forgot a sarcasm tag (/s) to denote my tongue planted in the left or right cheek. He's got a huge yard (10-acre parcel) to roam around with the occasional deer or package carrier to bark at. Letting him in/out and keeping his water dishes full are the only real work. They only feed him twice a day and not all that much considering his enormous size.

He was completely absorbed cuddling with my daughter who came over to visit, sponging up the love. I may have dropped a notch on the big baby's favorites list.

I've had at least one dachshund for the past 66 years, and our family has had four for most of the past 15 years. Unfortunately, old age, cancer, and heart disease left us without a dog for the past six months. That is, until last night, when my daughter brought home this beautiful 2 year old Blue Heeler mix from the humane society. He's very smart and his temperament is much like a wonderful Border Collie that we used to have. I'm thrilled to have a dog in our life again.

Thanked: 4827That dog looks like a high energy mix Richard. The good news is they tend to be easily interested in chasing a ball. They can burn a ton of energy fast, while you stand in one spot and fire off a ball with a chucker. The few I have known have all been pretty owner focused and are eager to please, much like the boarder collie you were comparing him to.
