.44 Magnums are a lot of fun to shoot, but since they literally EAT money, ya' gotta reload, if you shoot 'em very much. But NOT very practical for carry.
My 'Carry' gun is a full size Colt 1991A1 that was completely worked over at Novak's .45 Shop. I am a six footer who weighs a little over 250, so I can carry it concealed, without many problems. It has saved my bacon once. So it was worth every dime I paid!
1. Springfield XD .45 ACP Tactical Model 2. S&W 327, 2inch 8 shot N frame .357 3. Old Colt Agent 4. Old Colt Agent. After 50 years of expiermenting with handguns, these 4 are my favorites.
I carry a full size SW1911 in .45acp. as i've learned about gunsmithing over the years, i've replaced much of it and customized nearly all of it.
for 3 gun I use my carry gun plus a RRA A4 and a Benelli 12 ga. tons of fun.
.357 Colt Python, 6" blued - old but reliable.
Oh, I also like to shoot Sporting Clays, so I have a Beretta over/under. Beretta is where I first learned the word "Inox," which brings it back to the forum for relevency. :)
I carry a S&W AirLite PD 357 loaded with + P hollowpoints.
Other guns I have and consider all as favorites;
Sigarms P229 SAS .40
Beretta M 96D .40
Glock G23 .40
Glock G20 10mm
S&W M66 44mag 7 1/2 bbl
S&W M66 44mag 2 1/2 bbl
Colt SAA New Frontier 44spl 2nd gen
Colt SAA New Frontier 357mag 2nd gen
S&W K22 6"bbl 10 round cylinder capacity
Winchester M97 riot 12ga 20" bbl cyl bore circa 1940
Guess I suffered from GAD back in the day. I learned to stay out of gun shops. :)
