our dogs are also scared of thunder, they go and hide in the basement untill it passes.
Same goes for hot air balloons flying over.

i LOVE thunderstorms, we used to sit on the beech and watch them come in over the lake when i lived in ohio. one of my favorite times for thunderstorms is on winter nights during a snow storm the lightning reflects off the snow and lights the entire sky, it is just amazing

Thanked: 8I have a view of three NY?C bridges from my bedroom window. When the storms are really bad I can actually see the lightening striking buildings and bridges. It is simply amazing. One night it was really foggy and I saw the lightening strike, and Brooklyn went completely dark for a few minutes. I also love the pitter patter on a tin roof, on the ac, and on the car (as long as I am not driving). There is something about the ferocity of the storms that reminds me of the creator.

Yes sir! I absolutely love thunderstorms! Living in Florida gives me a constant front row seat to some of the best. In my more wild, youthful days, my friends and I would always go foolishly running in them.

Thunderstorms are the best time to take that nap. Open the windows, that new rain smell, a cool breeze floats past the curtains....and of course some storm sex is the best!
The only downer is when a 70 foot Norway spruce decides to jump into your living room after its sheered in half by the high winds.
That was about a week ago...

Had a bueaty last night, 2 o,clock in the morning the allmighty flash of light and then the KABOOM! Excellent sound and light show. After 20 minutes it was just the sound of rain on the tin roof as I gently slipped back into the land of nod zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Got some archeologists around here
I love storms, but they get annoying around here. You'd think the typical Denverite has never seen rain, so they go wild when it goes above a sprinkle. Traffic slows down at least 10 miles per hour from the normal rate (which is usually 5 or 10 less than the posted limit). You can tell how much I'm looking forward to snow. I'll probably never drive anywhere...
If you want some laughs, get around some of these people when there's a tornado warning, aka clouds that might produce a funnel. Everyone runs for cover and gets to the nearest shelter. Hilarious.

Thunderstorms are one of the things I miss about my childhood and teen years. I remember watching them roll in over the hay fields of Nebraska. You could see them coming for miles - awesome. You mowed until the last minute and then ran for the pickup.

I don't care too much one way or the other though I prefer nice sunny weather. About 12 yrs ago I was on the motorway on the motorcycle and lightning hit the steel link fencing at the side of the road, it lit up quite spectacularly, which made me pretty nervous until I got to my destination.
Our dogs hate it, one in particular gets completely terrified by thunder, fireworks and gunfire.
In the UK we obviously have far fewer deaths and serious injuries from lightning strikes than the the US, but we've had a couple this year in the South.'Living the dream, one nightmare at a time'
