I started when I was 17, and had many jumps, but I haven't been for years now. Perfect for the adrenaline junkie. We would help re-pack chutes & get a free jump for every one we did. I could never quite stick a landing though!

Jumped in the Army and it scared the crap out of me everytime.. Trusting other people to pack your chute isn't a warm fuzzy in my book... I onlydid it because the units I was assigned to made it mandatory.. If there were two lines, one for jumping and the other for getting kicked in the groin, I think I would pick the groin kicking line...

We were supervised by professionals, & they would check it over very well. I thought the same thing at first.

My policy is never to jump out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft, it's held me in good stead over the years.

"Well, when they finally do make a perfectly good aircraft, people will stop jumping out of them."

LOL! Actually, the first time I ever flew on a plane, it had no seats & I jumped out of it, never experiencing the landing!
