I ended up getting an olive color Fedora off Ebay, it's not a well known brand, can't remember off the top of my head. Was sold originally at a men's store in Chicago I believe. Also got a cheapo black pinstripe Fedora from Lids, and now I'm thinking about a navy or brown one. I got an olive color overcoat that goes OK with my navy suit and olive hat... but if I'm not wearing the coat I'm not sure what color hat would be best with a Navy suit. I'm thinking brown... any other ideas?

Cool. Filson makes some great stuff and their customer service in my experience is old school cool. Their products range from pricey to outrageous depending on the item, but the stuff is built to last. I must like Filson since through the years I've purchased a Filson blanket, vest, coat, Jac-Shirt, hat and feather-cloth shirt.
I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
With the Jac-Shirt, we had a puppy that chewed some ragged area off of one of the shoulders. I wrote to Filson explaining that my dog chewed the shirt (100% heavy virgin wool from U.S. sheep) and could I buy a small square of the cloth to have that area patched. They told me to send the Jac-Shirt to them and they sent back a brand new one at no charge.

Thanked: 335Filson chronicles
My the father-in-law of one of my uncles was an avid sportman; he even owned a bait manufacturing company. Had a Filson tincloth jacket and trousers, only one set so far as I know. He died at age 93 so those garments were probably used for well over 50 years.
Filson, spendy? Yup. Good? You betcha!

Thanked: 1I have a stacy adams store nearby, thats usually where I get my hats at. thats also where I get my 2-tone wingtips. they look good, but not too expensive. Blue suits would go better with black shoes and a hat. I have a navy blue suit. I wear black shoes and a black hat with it.

Thanked: 5Hey, I see that a fair few people suggested Akubra style hats.
Shameless plug here, but if you get a chance head on over to www.aussiebush.com
Its a family owned and operated business here in sunny old Melbourne.
A few interesting hats we stock (just to bait you in) are:
- Squashable Kangaroo Hats (these can fold over on themselves twice for compact storage)
- Crocodile Hat (with a genuine crocodile leather band, and decorated with real crocodile teeth. This hat comes with all required export permits required, and confirms it's authenticity)
