The pipe on the left is my late Fathers' Falcon, the next is a Cherrywood pipe made in Austria, smokes very cool. the next is another of my late Fathers' corncob, and lastly a Petersen which I mostly smoke. The tobaccy pouch is a Martini Henry Cartridge pouch of early vintage.

I just dropped my Cavicchi 4C and upon impact with the floor my stem broke off, I am flustered right now, But do any of the fellow briarsmen have some one who can repair this stem. PM or post if any on has some suggestions. This break is clean and flush on shaft and stem.
Thanks Bri

Pipe Smokers
Gentlemen,
All this talk and those fabulous pictures make me nostalgic for the world of pipe smoking. I finally gave up the pipe last year. I have already sold some of my pipes, and will be selling a few more, plus a 20-pipe rack. I'll just keep two Comoys I bought many decades ago to remember my 20s in San Francisco.
Yes, indeed, I miss it.

Just picked up my first Pipe. An Italian brand I can't even think of the name right now. It was around the $50 mark. Real pretty IMO.
I've been smoking it for a couple weeks now. The missus hates when I smoke cigarettes or cigars. She's not a big fan of the pipe so far, but somehow it flew in a little under the radar, so I might just be able to compromise.
Got some real good tasting tobacco...mellow something or other. Sorry for the lack of names, it's all down in the garage right now, where I'm relegated to smoke it. I'll provide details later.
Nice to see there's some knowledge I can draw upon here. Just trying to keep the damn thing lit for a decent amount of time to begin with. Also trying not to burn my tongue every time I [re]light it.

Thanked: 150I stopped by a local pipe shop here in Denver, (Edward's) and picked up this pipe, and some Escudo. I can't wait to fire this baby up.

Pipe Smokers?
Matt,
I particularly remember those Edwards pipes for their unusual shapes. I owned several a long time ago. Escudo is also one tobacco I smoked occasionally throughout the years and liked it. You've made good choices.

Pipe Smokers?
Matt,
The mountain of fine tobaccos, especially Dunhill's luscious 965 Blend, reminds of a story.
A long time ago, in San Francisco, I walked into the Dunhill shop downtown and spent some delightful minutes taking in the sights and fragrances of a fine tobacco shop. That is until one of the sales gentlemen exhibited such a snooty attitude that I could not help but snicker to myself. Was this guy for real?
A few days later, ambling along Broadway in North Beach to meet a friend for coffee at Cafe Trieste around the corner on North Grant Street, whom do I see? You guessed it: his snooty lordship. Except that he was working as a barker outside a strip club.
And so goes one of life's little bits of real comedy.
Regards,
Obie
