Thanked: 2This thread is ridiculous, you all have such nice pipes! I have only owned a Dr. Grabow Smoke Master and Kaywoodie Saxon. I really enjoy the finish both companies put on the briar, and they fortunately not the newer 'drinkless' variety they seem to all have become.
I'd really like to try the Dunhill blend, or any tinned tobacco for that matter, as they seem to be all the rage compared to the ever-fresh bags I seem to get with everything anymore besides custom blends.

Been a pipe smoker (& an occasional cigar) for over 40 years. Have around 75 pipes & my Saturday job is as a tobacconist; something I've done off & on since I was 18. English/Balkan mixtures are my favorites.

Thanked: 6My favorite was a missouri meerchaum and a bowl of Frog Morton's. Sadly I left it out in the rain and haven't gotten around to replacing it. I had a few estate pipes and some nice English blends, but nothing like smoking a corn-cob on a warm summer night listening to Creedence CW

ps favorite cigar is Romeo Y Julieta Maduro Reserves. Best cigar ever! I'm a little broke at the moment (probably from buying shaving stuff). Thinking of joining a cigar of the month club, someone at work recommended it for low volume (once or twice a month) smokers like me, then you can throw the rest in the humidor for guests.

Thanked: 1I have been smoking a pipe for 8 or so years. nothing too fancy just a few solid workhorses. the savinelli Duca Carlo line. I have the half bent bulldog, and 2 bent billiards or some shape like that. Good smokers for $40 each. I enjoy most blends aside from aromatics or anything cased. I picked up a few tins of Old Ironsides from CAO last weekend in some po-dunk town that had no idea of what this stuff is. They also had a few tins of Midnight Ride from CAO. Needless to say I bought all the tins of both blends. each tin was 10.50.

Pipe Smokers?
Gentlemen,
It is heart warming to hear you chat about pipes.
At one time I had close to 100 pipes, but little by little sold them. Last year I gave up pipes altogether.
I have kept three pipes, two Comoys and one Jobey, that I bought in San Francisco more than 30 years ago. They are reminders of something that was fun while it lasted.
Thanks for the memory.
Regards,
Obie

Pipe smokers?
My dear Icedog,
You are a poet. Yes, indeed, my name is Obie and I have a Jobey. I like that.
I bought the pipe in San Francisco, however — it seems like a century ago.
Regards,
Obie

As far as I know, Jobey Dansk was a brand produced by Karl Erik. I quite like his pipes, and posted up mine here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...-my-pipes.html

Thanked: 23pipes?
My favorite pipes are my Mark Tinsky pipes. I have a couple of Dunhills, which are great and are sweet presents from my wife, a cob or two for the lazy pipe after fishing (don't want to drop a fancy pipe in the water...) and a Brigham. The last has a very interesting replaceable maple tube in the stem which perfectly tames any harshness if I make an unwise choice with a new tobacco. The inexpensive Brigham is a fantastic choice for a new smoker, by the way.
The very best smokers I have are the Tinsky pipes. They are amazing.
Give me a Tinsky, and a tin of GLP tobacco(Greg Pease's blends), and I am in heaven. (Of course, I can be happy with a corncob pipe and some Carter Hall tobacco, too. )
For some reason, I never smoke before shaving. Do you?

I don't smoke a pipe, but my son brought this back for me from Iraq. Thought it was worth sharing.
