Edit - oh, I thought Mike was asking in general, not about these specific bottles.
Here they are brown as most beer bottles. The way I understand it is that in some countries green bottles sell better than brown bottles.

Same with the red star on the Heineken label. Here the star is red, in the USA and many other countries the star is white with a red lining as red stars are in some countries associated with communism.

ok since we are on the subject of Grolsch Bottles , because I have always had a thing for them. Has anyone seen the Cobalt Blue( Grolsch Style Bottle) that Ogallalla Bay rum comes in, I just had to buy one. I was laying in bed this morning staring at this bottle as the sun was shining through it and leaving a blue streak reflection on the wall. God that sounds like something I would have said in the 70's

Yup, I've seen those, and I really like the bottle style. It's ok to say things that sound like they're out of the 70's, because the bottles look like they're from the 70's too (or maybe older... I don't know, I wasn't around back then).

Really old Grolsch bottles have the wire just like the newer ones only they have cork instead of porcelain.
