Tulsa, Oklahoma is the best city for living I've ever been in. Simple, cheap, and comfortable. The best city for VISITING would have to be Tokyo...Just...Man. Insane. Enough to keep you busy for ages. But live there? Not on your life.

Olivia, I lived in Berlin for a while, and I also found it to be quite stressful, some of the neighborhoods were quite nice in my opinion...Kreuzberg was loads of fun, as was Prenzlauerberg. Mitte, though? And Charlottenburg? Talk about anonymous...

Just kidding, well kinda. I do like New York, but is a bit oderous when it's warm out.
Actually NYC smells pretty dang good these days. Did you ever get a chance to visit in the 70s or early 80s? - We have to be careful about the encroaching "Disney" thing though. It's best to keep a certain amount of grit...

I haven't been there in 25 years, so I don't know what it's like now, but Venice really blew my mind. Especially when I got lost and found the less touristy areas.

I now live in Green Bay, Wisconsin...well actually DePere, which is like on the other side of the green bay line. its a nice small town with enough big city feel for me.

I lived in Milwaukee for 5 years while at college and hated the city. Musty air, too many people too much crime, not enough grass...

I am originally from the country 20 min north of Green Bay and I miss the smell of fresh cut hay and Pine trees. I am going to visit my dad tomorrow actually get a little hard work and sweat in around the house, maybe shoot the guns or the bow,

So i guess my favorite city is the country just outside the city. I love the outdoors.

I can't see my living within a city, but I have a couple I could keep going back to.

I think my favorites are probably Las Vegas, because it's SO accesible, it's great to look at a cityscape and know you can walk into every single building, you can't do that every where.

New York because is buzzes, every one is going somewhere, but it felt secure and quite open as well.

Cardiff - a little left field but it's a great corner of the world.

There are others that left an impretion, Brugge has been mentioned and well worth a visit. Looking forward to seeing Prague as well, I had a connection from San Francisco once, I'd like to go back.

So many places, so little time!

disclaimer: I hate big cities, and try to avoid them. I realize that sounds kind of hypocritical (I work in Dallas, in a bustling metropolis of over 6 million people) but I live out in the country and love it.

The big city I work in is nice with the museums and symphonies and hockey games, but it's like a shopping mall. Fun to visit, but I'd rather die than live there.
One of the nicest cities I've visited was Cologne, Germany. Lot of history, very charming place.

Nawlins was a hole before Katrina and now it's a sewer. Shreveport has all the fun with less hobos and public defecation.

I will say, a bulk of my experience was during the sumers in the mid/late 80s. Worked in and around (what was then) the RCA building, Pen Plaza, Federal Building Down Town, the Twin Towers. Was there most recently 3 years ago, but in the winter.
