Do you know I'd never seen an "English muffin" here in England until McDonald's appeared here and started selling them!

Now crumpets, that's a different matter and not a breakfast thing. I love a nice crumpet dripping in melting butter...

Eating bacon isn't enough, you have to also slather the rest of the breakfast with bacon fat. Bacon by itself is practically a vegetable.

I have much to learn. At least I wasn't talking
about Canadian (back) bacon, which I presume
    to be even healthier

While I am sticking to my Nutrisystem diet (down 124 lbs and counting! Yay!)...if I were going to create a breakfast that could require a trip to the hospital:

    - 4 jumbo fried eggs, sunny-side up (fried in a touch of bacon grease) or a 4 egg omelette with sausage, ham, bacon, Jarlsberg, Sharp Cheddar, and Fontina, sauteed red, green, jalapeno peppers, herbs.
    - 2 slices of thick cut rye toast (toasted medium-to-dark) with butter
    - 1 small (6 oz.) fillet steak, rubbed with black pepper, sea salt, and garlic, grilled medium-rare
    - 4 pieces of thick cut pepper-cured bacon
    - Fresh grits with butter (cooked in salted water for 20+ minutes on low heat until velvety/creamy)
    - 2 freshly baked southern-style buttermilk biscuits (none of that crap from the refrigerated section), topped with fresh spicy sausage gravy (I use fresh sage pork sausage and some andouille with the grease drained off) or in place of the B&G,

    - 3 spicy pork sausage patties
    - 4 fresh pancakes or 2 belgien-style waffles, topped with butter and maple syrup or butter and fresh strawberries

    - one 0.5 liter stoneware beer stein (holds the heat well) of freshly ground drip or french press Rwandan Nkomo or Ethiopian Yergecheffe French Roast coffee with cream and sugar
    - 1 large glass of milk
    - 1 medium glass of fresh grapefruit juice

In the distant past, I was able to do a breakfast like this...but then being in the Army tends to burn calories.

Daves home fries with a couple eggs over easy or scrambled and a couple home made buttermilk biscuits. Dice up an onion and toss it in a hot pan to get it caramelized, toss in two potatoes cut into ΒΌ inch cubes, add a dash of dill, salt, fresh ground pepper and a couple tablespoons of duck fat. Yup, duck fat. How do you get duck fat (as apposed to bacon grease), shoot a few ducks and keep the oil out of the roasting pan. Makes out of this world potatoes. Cook them until you get a nice golden brown. Dump them onto a plate, add a dash of oil back to the pan and cook two eggs in it.

I make some mean sour dough pancakes and fruit crepes as well. Have a couple cappuccinos and the the day is off to a good start.

Canadian bacon would be acceptable, but only if you wash it down with Canadian Whiskey (that's a rye smoothie for all you health nuts).

Another connoisseur of the crumpet! There used to be the Tilley's Crumpet bakery just around the corner from me. They were the best.

Never tried the honey but will.
