Levis. Just about- Yes, the finest pair of Denim.
Not sure how you gentlemen feel about Levis, but I am very convinced that they are the finest jeans around. They come in actually accurate sizing yet each one is different from another to be truly unique. Plus, there's a perfect pair out there for everyone if you are willing to spend an hour at a Macy's or something and try on the different sizes. For example, The 514s are the new 'emo' look that all the hip kids wear, but that doesn't mean they are not fine jeans. I have a pair of 514s myself as they look good with my nice new Chucks and of course are comfortable like no other.
For more day to day wearing though, I think the good old fashioned 501s and 505s are great. What do you guys think?

I bought my first pair of Levis in the UK in the late '60s. Then, they stood out as being much better than anything else available in the UK. These days there is a massive choice in all makes of denim jeans, they are just one brand amongst many.
I take my hat off to Howies, a small independent Welsh jeans maker who Levis threatend with a lawsuit because they had a red tab on the back pocket. Common sense prevailed and Howies kept their design. Best of all, they were virtually unknown until Levis gifted them with a wonderful free publicity campaign in the National Press.'Living the dream, one nightmare at a time'

I dont buy Levis anymore, they are poorly made of inferior material and slave labor. They are not of the same quality they used to be and yet they demand a superior price. I used to be a huge fan, but now I pass on them. I remember when it would take 6 months to a year to break in a pair. In a years time these days they will be worn out.

But they don't come in size 36/38 so I never had one.

when I was a kid, a pair of levi 501s would last until you outgrew 'em, maybe some holes in the knees from power sliding, but that was rare. the denim was twice as thick as other jeans.
nowadays, the denim is paperthin and they come unsewed at the seams. anymore if i want sturdy denim stuff, i go with dickies (still made in ft worth, tx) or carrhart.
