    Default New car smell

Ahh, that fine scent that CANNOT be duplicated, execpt in a new car. It was time, so I bought a new Ford Flex. Please excuse the bad camera phone picture ....

2009 Ford Flex Limited, Dark Ink Blue paint with white roof, 4 ... count em ... 4 sunroofs ... fully loaded with everything. I guess it was time to spoil myself.

It is a little too comfy ... I find myself drifting into lala land in the 5am commute when I turn on the heated seat ... terrible, I know. That is my bald noggin sticking out behind it!

My caddy has a heated steering wheel.. it's great!

I like the Flex though, good trendy alternative to a mini-van/station wagon

I remember seen advertised a "new car smell" air freshener (like this), but nothing like the real McCoy!!!

I recently learned that the actual new car smell is hard to recreate because the smell is a combination of the chemicals used to produce the various plastics and electronics in the vehicle.

Quite right. They are also linking this beloved smell to sickness and supposed cancer risks. These days nearly everything is, I guess. I'd still crack the widows and ventilate as much as possible, for the first few months, anyhow.

Just an FYI, that "New Car Smell' is actually toxic. It is the scent of glue from the dash, upholstery, and seats airing out.

It is recommended to drive with the windows down frequently to extinguish this industrial and chemically induced fragrance.

I think the "new car smell" actually kind of stinks. I know there's nothing like it but I suppose there's nothing like sniffing a mixture of glue and leather tanning products is there?

I always thought that new cars kind of stink.

    I absolutely love the flex.

I think the black with white top looks like a tuxedo and the root beer colored one isnt too shabby either.
