Thread: pipe smokers... UNITE!

another pipe smoker chiming in. I'm a churchwarden man, and a meerschaum nut to boot. a big fan of the aromatic and heavily flavored stuff... to me a pipe fits between my cigar smoking and my hookah smoking!
there is absolutely nothing in this world as comforting as having a warm pipe in your hand on a cold day.

hey, count me in here as well.. I haven't puffed for over 6 months, but I do enjoy some pipe smoking and some good scotch or rum! Nothing could be finer, especially paired with a good book!

I do recall having been invited to a social group of this sort some time ago, but it might have disapeared when the server crashed. Or maybe it is my imagination... Anyhow, I'm proud to announce that "the smoking room" is now open. Those who responded to this thread have received invitations. I hope that the name catches your fancy.
Now we can talk about pipes and all things pipe related without bothering our non-smoking friends. But I just wish I could smell that smoking room of ours... It would be almost good enough to eat!
Welcome!
And thanks for the enthusiasm!

Nice decision on the club name; simple and classy.

I am in, nothing like smoking a pipe for a nice but nicotine loaded time.

I'm in, too. I tend to smoke cigars outside in the winter when the weather is nicer (this is Arizona) and the pipe in the summer when it's too hot to sit outside.
Right now I'm smoking Buza's Jamestown 1612 Virginia in a bent Peterson.

I am planning on getting a corn cob pipe and a tin of SG "Squadron Leader" as my starters into what I hope will be a long pipe journey. So, I am in too.

I'm gonna have to clean some of the pipes up, get some moisture in my tobacco and pickup some new stuff. you guys are bad influences!
It would be a group buy thing on the lighters, I think it would be cool actually instead of a pipe image on them (great thign with zippo getting a buy together is we can get them with the pipe insert, and using some of these new fuels they are great for pipes) get a lot of the hallmarks/symbols on some of the blades, maltese cross, arrow etc. just layed out on the brass case of the lighter.
I'm not sure how tinsky works on the pipes. you aren't obligated to buy a certain number I don't think. as a group we'd discuss shapes, ideas, he'd work up a pipe and then members could contact him to buy one. I had a club pipe (sold it, when I was stupid I'd do that kind of thing) and I had a Christmas pipe of his I gave to a friend, he probably still has it. it was a really cool pipe.

My two cents on pipe shape: I'd like a bent sitter - maybe a volcano... Then again, I probably wouldn't be able to afford one.
