Thanks for the input on PetSmart, I don't think I'll be paying them a visit for training.
I've been taking the little guy to the dog park near my house daily and am truly amazed at how fast this guy learns stuff. He's got "sit" down pat and will maneuver around the obstacle course on command with ease (and a treat). It's very cool to see how the "working dog" roots are so ingrained in them.
I've had the regular puppy issues like chewing on stuff but with correction and diverting his attention to a chew toy it's been very manageable. A stern-voiced phrase of disapproval is normally all that's needed.

Thanked: 586He's a cutie! I believe some dogs are more challenging then others but I also believe you can make even the most difficult dog into a gem with enough love, consistency and socialization.
