Thanked: 101The wife got me a MK2 Ruger HB SS for our anniversary one year. Shot like cr@p for a long time. Constant jams and hangups. Gently stoned/buffed the feedramp and it will run like a champ now. Also removed the triger and did away with the serrations on the face and polished it out. Takedown can be a bear, just have to keep your wits. It is a very accurate pistol if I do my part.

I carry most of the time. I have carried many different pistols each has it's advantages and dis-advantages. I have settled on the Sig P229 , The P225 and the wife loves the P320. My friend the gunsmith did a little work on the triggers and made them very smooth. I settled on the 9 MM to keep just one cal ammo in the house for our pistols so there's never any confusion. With todays modern ammo the 9MM + P ammo i believe will be quite enough to stop the treat especially when you give the a clipful.

Speaking of 22s, how about an old Colt Woodsman Target third model, and a Browning junior size copy of a Government model in 22LR ...........
The Woodsman is one of the great target 22s and all steel of course. When you extend your arm to present to the target you know you have a pistol in your hand. The Browning is aluminum and light as a feather. Actually takes more muscle control and concentration to shoot than the Colt, because it is so light that it is more difficult to hold still. Once you get used to it the thing is a hoot to shoot.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 4Ahh, another fellow familiar with the Ruger takedown!
Mine's a 22/45 and it's been over a year since I last shot it. I need to save and renew my range membership.
I really cannot say I have had feed issues with my 22/45. I don't shoot truncated cone profile loads in it. It basically has seen Federal Champion, CCI minimag, Blazer, and Winchester Super-X. Been a reliable feeder for me.
