I won't be riding this summer, and at this point next summer is not looking promising unless I happen to get my long dead Yamahopper 650 running, but it's not even on the priority list yet. Anyway, at least Minnesota is between ND and TN.

Sorry that your ride is down, but as far as 'maybe next year' and 'Minnesota being between ND and TN'-------------------------

That bike has been dead for about 15 years. Unfortunately riding has not been a priority but it would be fun to bring it back to life. Of course, it would be more fun to get something bigger with TC's help.

I've been riding motorcycles since I was 16 (1969) but had wanted a Harley since '67.

When I decided to retire I figured that at the age of 62 it was Now or Never!

Thanks to Tc's guidance I picked up my '97 Heritage with 17K original miles on it. He did tell me that he could have found something similar down in his area for a lot less but also was impressed with the bike and the approximately $3K in add on's.(I paid 8K cash for it from a private individual/seller).

Once Tc saw it in person he said that he'd never seen a nearly 20 year old bike in such nice shape. And I'm trying to keep it that way. Right now it's up on the jack and the front rim and old tire are in the local bike shop to have a new tire installed.

Even if you don't have a ride by the time I ride back to see Tc, hopefully we can get together. I'd really enjoy that!

gun Reciprocy laws are very confusing but they are trying to get it cleared up with the push for Constitutional carry laws that are gaining ground. even here in Tn its in the house now. I have always checked before I go on my rides, but have also found that if its an issue , in my backpack is still for the most part legal because of not having instant access, and
to be honest if you aint doing anything wrong they don't hassle you anyway, ive declared I had a gun in my tour pak while in New York when I was pulled over and the Patrol Officer just had me stand away form my bike while we went over the ticket(don't ask) but Roy your going to be going thru several gun states on your way here so your good to go. I haven't been to the big ride to DC in a couple of years with Rolling Thunder, but even there plenty of us are strapped in Washington DC, its all about you being discreet and not causing a bunch of trouble. now if I knew you were going to be packing I would have pushed you to get a vest with a built in holster! Tc

heres the list I think you will be riding thru , Idaho anyone 6 and older can carry LOL I,m kidding guys don't go all political on me, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota( not sure about this one ill have to look it up), Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, maybe Nebraska if you should decide to at one point, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina,(ive never had a problem there), on your way back , Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, for the most part all these states are gun friendly. its all on the website Tc

Below is 1 website and 1 app for smartphones I recommend in every CCL class I teach. While there are several others out there, these seem to put updates on quicker.

    Website: https://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html

Just put in what state or states CCL permits you have and it does the rest.

    App for smartphones: "Legal Heat"

Select state and it has the statue, along with reciprocity maps. (Open and concealed laws are there. And it updates auto when a state is selected).

IF you swing thru the Communist Republic of Chitago (aka Illinois). Specifically south/central Illinois, give me a shout and we can get together. You have my phone number, if I remember right.

Picked up my Browning T-Bolt .22 16.5 barrel with laminated stock in stainless steel I also put on a Wildcat Panther moderator + 500 rounds of hollow point ammo, today I've just finished setting up the sights picatinny rail and scope mounts everything looking good, hopefully I can zero her in tomorrow if the weather stays kind to me.
