It is also stressed in the instructors workshop, the we stress this when teaching new Glock armorers.

That being said, IF, as you mentioned, the lead is hard enough (somewhere upwards of 30 on the brinell scale) you could get by, providing your barrel isn't shot out. But me? I only run FMJ's in my Glocks.
I agree about "no reloads through guns". Every company has this warning. If I didn't reload I probably wouldn't shoot. Casting and reloading gets my ammo down to very low cost to enable me to shoot more. A lot more. I am still shooting centerfire cheaper then rimfire.

Has anyone put any lead through one of the new Gen 5 Glocks yet? Thinking about picking one up next month unless I can talk myself into picking up one of those RO Elites.

Same for me. I don't cast my own though. I've thought about getting into it but I do prefer some kind of coating simply because of how dirty lead tends to be (indoor range, lead dust, etc). That being said, the cost of the previously mentioned blue bullets, at $0.07 each, still keep the cost under 50% of a retail box of 147gr. I do shoot a LOT more than before I started reloading, and I still spend a bit less than I used to.

Went shooting yesterday. Shot some .38 Special, .45 ACP and some .32 S&W-L. Also shot some 12ga slugs, buck and birdshot. Fore end on my ancient 870 was binding up on the ejection stroke so that went in the trash when I got home. I had other older stocks for it, so it went back to all wood. Go to the range and the Armorer's 870 doesn't run right......What is this world coming too?

I was seeing what guns will be best for the turkey shoot next weekend. I want the turkey or ham. Hopefully bologna is not in the cards this time....

Always enjoyed the history behind the lever guns but never quite grew fond of them having owned a Win 94 in 32 Win Special and a 444 Marlin. Thanks for posting.
