Having carried on the job for many years daily carry is simply a pain in the butt. It's uncomfortable and destroys your clothes.

However you need to factor the caliber with what you think you will need to put down your target. They have many high caliber pistols with small size these days. it's also a matter of your size too. Also high capacity vs small size. It is said, in a gun fight if you don't hit your target with the first few rounds it don't matter how much capacity you have. Most gunfights end quickly.

My opinion is the most comfortable thing to carry that will do the job.

Ya, I read somewhere that most gun battles last 2.5 rounds on average.
I guess a derringer would be good!

Yea American Derringer makes a two shot model they call "The Alaskan Survival Model". One barrel is a 45 long colt and the other is a 45-70. They claim at close range and well placed it will take down a Grizzly.

Carry whatever you can shoot accurately, consistently, Caliber does not matter, if you miss. Heavy calibers are hard to shoot, unless you practice regularly with the ammo you will carry.

Pay for the best training you can afford, and practice, practice, practice.

When it hits the fan, "we do not rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.” If your training is weak or non-existent, you will probably not survive a gun fight.

Well, I don't carry. I take one out to the car in the morning and back into the house at night.
Having a business, that is legal. No going to jail for capping a smart-ass for me.

Just stay close to the car?

Crazy stuff going on around here. Gun battle for parking space last week.
Fortunately, all fled and could not shoot straight.
