Has anyone tried to buy a semi-auto pistol lately?

I have been wanting a Springfield for years, but they were always Non Compliant in Massachusetts.
    They recently became compliant.
I an trying to buy an XDS mod. 2

The problem is no shops, local or online have any inventory, always "Out of Stock."
Not one semi auto pistol on display in Cabelas.
    Very strange indeed.

Does anyone know about a National Shortage?

    Also any opinions on Springfield?
They have always been the dangling carrot that I could never get.

Not sure on shortages cause I haven’t bought one in a while, but if you someone who owns an XD Springfield I’ll tell ya, it’s been my daily carry for 15 years I think, it’s been a long time. I have many choices but this one stays on the hip the most. Totally reliable, but full disclosure it’s been worked over,ie trigger slides lugs, and all surfaces, smoothed out ramp. New barrel. Was a great shooter from the get but I like to play. Mines had several thousand rounds thru it and no FTF or FTE. I caN keep all 13 rounds in. 4” circle at 20 yards. Would never hesitate to buy another if it came up.

Now I have a really nice Glock that just got back from the smith, easily can be a favorite. And if anyone ever comes to me with a Sig .357 I’ll get it.

The Glock is a 10 mm and knock down beast. I had a three toned cercoate job done on it, fixed the terrible trigger they have , polished ,ported, and a new stainless fluted barrel, gonna order a new leather holster so I can carry it proud,

Yes, and they have some nice new ones listed.
I just have to coordinate delivery with a FFL dealer willing to do the transfer.
Shouldn't be too hard. They have a pretty good list of guys in the area

I will work on that tomorrow.

    GunBroker was seamless.
Should be on the way tomorrow.

Being that these were non-compliant in Massachusetts up till very recently, I've been looking forward to this for years.
