    Default My new pooch

I must have caught my dearly beloved in a moment of weakness because I am now the proud owner of this little guy.

Got him at the through an animal shelter at my local PetSmart. I'm told he's a purebred Australian Cattle Dog. Anyone have any experience with these guys?

Awww what a cutie and congratulations on the new family member. Try talking to Doc, I think he rescues that breed so should be able to give you some advice.

    Thanks for sharing.

I've never owned one personally, but I've had friends that did. They loved those dogs, and they were really great IMO too. Congrats on the new addition. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for rescuing too!

He looks great! Have plenty of fun with him. Amazing how such small, cute animals can actually be so destructive though. Good luck with that!

    AWww.. he is so cute!
I have Australian Shepherd. He is a breed of herding dog that was developed on ranches. The Aussie (as he is lovingly nicknamed) is a very active dog that needs a great deal of exercise on a daily basis to prevent him from become bored or frustrated and developing destructive habits. I'm sure that Australian Cattle dogs are the same way. Have fun with him and keep him very active.

I'm fortunate enough to work in a parochial school that is very dog friendly. He'll get tons of running and playing time in the PE field. I will however make sure he gets some brain stimulation with the training at petsmart.

Any of you dog lovers use petsmart for obedience training?

I've never known anyone to be particularly pleased with them, but I haven't personally tried them... I find individuals that actually take the dogs for a couple of weeks and work with them in their home. I've been getting great results that way

Not related but just picked up on richmondesi's siggie.

Silver may well be purified by fire but I'm a little burnt around the eges at the moment!
