Ahh, Murray's pomade such a wonderful product. I styled my hair when I was 14 and I haven't needed to comb it since!
After experiences similar to the above I switched to murray's beeswax. It holds a similarly to the pomade hair dressing but washes out nicely and helps to condition the hair. It's soft enough to use without applying heat and a quick rub in the hands and it goes in easily with out chunks.

Just pour a hand full in your palm (probably a little more than you would pour shampoo) and rub into your hair. I also like to use a comb and comb it through that seems to help. Then use shampoo and wash it all out. I have been told you can use vegetable oil as well. If you put murray's in super thick you might have to use a little more Olive oil then shampoo and condition. It took me a few times to get it down but now it's no problem at all.

if your going to use pomade, just roll with the real deal. it does not wash out when you want to stop the fun, it ends up on your pillow, your lady and what ever, the next morning put in more! I have not used layrite but am interested and look forward to your experience.

I searched many a pomade and brillantine when I used the murry's to see if I could find the perfect stuff so you have my sympathies it also occured too me that pomade and straight razors may be a bad mix as the pomade would be a bad thing if it gets on your face at all from combing with your hands and all good luck

Ok I got in the Layrite that I showed a link to earlier in the post. First off the smell is very nice. A sweet coconut smell that lasts all day. It really goes on like a normal pomade and is super thick. They said it worked best on dry hair so thats what I did, this stuff is thick like the Murray's. I combed up my pomp and it combed nice added just a little water from a wet palm to do some shaping and that worked nice as well. The hold dries a little firm but not as stiff as gel. The hold lasted all damn day and never went away. Oh and at the end of the day it washed out with just shampoo I am not really sure if you can recomb it or not I never needed to it just held were I combed it that morning.
I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new pomade. I am going to order there regular pomade to see how it works.
