Not an owner or even frequent rider but I do love the sleek look of them and their great flexibility as a working animal.
Funny story though... I've always lived in a city or close to it but bought a house in Lemon Grove (just outside of San Diego, semi-rural). The house up the street has a bigger lot with a horse on it and the first morning he rode by my window was a real surprise, lol.

St8ghtshver, a fellow team roper? header or heeler ? Currently Im a heeler as my new horse is a bit green, has a tendancy to blow up if something goes wrong!! Used to head and heel on the old appy.It was pretty good a few years ago when you got 3 loops at a rodeo, so iffen your header missed the healer could slip through and head, they cut it out because of time restraints.
Team roping is pretty popular here in Western Australia and back over east in Queensland and New South Wales. We use mostly quarterhorse and q crosses, my horse is mostly thoroughbred with a dash of appy, not the best type.
CheersKeep yo hoss well shod an yo powdah dry !
