Oh yes! I'm American Italian, and my family taught me well on the many uses of olive oil. Skin lotion, shaving lubricant, cooking, hair care... Awesome stuff.

Hey it's here up in the north too.
Very good stuff. Healthy too.
We use it mostly for cooking but my wife also has some soaps based on olive oil.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 335Olive oil? Great stuff; I love it for cooking and salad dressings - and this is from an American of Norwegian descent who believes that not everything needs to be white.

Italian, Spanish, Lebanese, and Palestinian.... I use olive oil from all of those places and love the stuff on salads, cooking and even as a substitute for butter on a bagel.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

For simply frying we often use canola, light vegetable or sunflower/safflower, but whenever flavour is demanded we use high quality olive oil of course. Doesn't everybody? It's a great moisturiser as well, although I smell like I'm marinating myself and of course olive oil soap is awesome too.

Don't forget Moroccan Olive Oil, recognized as some of the best in the world. At the airport in Morocco , Moroccan expats do whatever it takes to smuggle out there olive oil. Customs is on the lookout for oil so you must have a bribe ready, if they refuse the bribe believe me major depression followed by rageful anger follows. Its worth it, an ounce of this oil can turn a dish from okay to delicious.
