Thread: Name Your Favorite Beers, Ales, Lagers ?

Cannot pick 1; that's why I go to a local favorite: Al's of Hampden, near Harrisburg PA where there are always 30+ drafts and zilllions of other specialty brews avaliable. Al posts the Beer Advocate rating, style, alcohol content;

have never had a belgian beer i didnt like. as a whole, belgian style beers are definately the favourite. been reading "brew like a monk" for the homebrew fanatics - it really gives a good insight into the thought processes behind how some of these beers are created. great reading.

In no particular order
1. Pabst Blue Ribbon
2. Red Stripe
3. Amberbock
4. Yuengling Black and Tan
5. Fosters
6. domestic San Miguel (Philippines)
7. Henry Wienhards Dark (although I can't get it around here)

I'm with you on this. That book is sitting out right now - its a good read! I've got an attempt at an all grain Leffe Blonde clone going right now. My first all grain beer though, so we'll see how it turns out.

Belgians (and Belgian style beer) are definitely my favorites; I enjoy the trappists, lambics, blondes, triples, dubbels etc. Pretty hard to go wrong in my opinion.

Up here in Canada we have Unibroue, which makes some pretty good Belgian inspired stuff, and a local microbrew Paddockwood, which also makes some Belgian style beers.

Lately, one of my favorites has been Affligem Blond - delicious, and available where I am.
