I've gotta move to the US....

Do you think the immigration authorities would except a straight razor obsession as a reason to emigrate...?

Hope you guys have an awesome time!

stubear, just use it as your being oppressed by the industrial complex that makes razors, that sould get you in the door, and along the way you can throw in the shaveing cream companies for extra insurance

They are great. We've had a few meets now in Minnesota graciously hosted by Mike Blue at his shop/smithy. There is an instant kinship with others in the fact that we all share a common interest in something obscure.

Plus, you get to see so many cool things in one place that are razor related.

Man, that's some neat looking stuff. What's it all do when it does?

I've been to a bunch of meets. There have been lots up here, then little get togethers with just a few of the gang, the NYC meet, and many more to come. It's awesome to meet new people, solidify friendships, and share information in person. I'll have to see if I can make it to this "Grand Daddy."

Well, to be perfectly honest, I enjoyed meeting people, particularly you. I also enjoyed putting a face to a nam . . . errrr a screen name.

I also got a kick out of Doc asking me if I hone my own razors.

At the last SE meet up the shaving demos and the video with live questions was pretty darn cool.

And returning to my Bed & Breakfast and people telling me "I saw you on the news honing a straight razor!"

Another great moment was when a member walked up to me and said "You know that stropping post you made about adding graphite to the strop, that really works" LOL, why, yes it does. It was almost like, you know, I just realized out of 4,000 posts you finally got something right.

    The feeling is mutual Alan!

To me, the site is great, but meeting everyone is a notch above. The other neat thing to me is when we all go out and everyone looks at us like we have nothing in common.
