Your "Dream Bathroom" - Do tell!!
Well. Now that we have noobies, experts, veterans, SRP founders, SRP developers, moderators and all of everyone else "in betweens", I am curious to know what you envision your dream bathroom would look like...please feel free to let the imagination go wild. Go nuts and don't hold back!!
I will start off with a few designs (stolen from the web) that I have in mind for my bathroom retrofit (hopefully in the near future). And if you can't tell by the pictures, I am more or less a minimalist of sorts . This is where I would find my ultimate "Zen" when I shave...of course, what you don't see (or hear in this case) is the classical music playing in the background while I am showering, and getting ready for my shave.
In no particular order:

Thanked: 1195My dream bathroom would be....
One without kids so I'd be able move my shave den from my bedroom to the bathroom, where it belongs.
Only another 18 years or so until the last one is gone

Those large open spaces are nice, but for me to have them, my dream bathroom would have to be in a nice, warm location. Though I don't much like my small bathroom, it says quite warm after a hot shower in the cold, Rochester winters (and spring, apparently).
If I was in a climate without winter, I would love a wide open bathroom with a big bath tub (recessed into the floor is nice, but I also like classic claw foot tubs), a stone shower with several heads and a built in bench, huge counter tops by the sink (when I test shave, I may use up to 15 razors, so I like space to put them down open) and lots of natural light.

I've already been in my dream bathroom:
For our 10th anniversary my wife and I traveled through Europe and ended with a cruise of the mediterranean sea. This is the bathroom of the cruise ship's suite.
I don't think I'll be able to afford to visit this bathroom again, but shaving while looking out that porthole at the bright blue water and cliffs of Greek islands takes the cake and won't leave my memories any time soon. Unfortunately I wasn't shaving with straights back then, that would have made the experience ten times better.

My dream bathroom would just be my own with a stand up shower, shelves for my shaving stuff and no make up or hair curlers/dryers all over the counter top.

i've always fantasized about a shower with a bench in it that doubled as a steam room and a huge mirror for shaving with large windows on both sides..
and since you said i could have whatever..
i'd also like a barbers chair and a leggy brunette who would clean up my hairline on the back of my neck and give me a daily massage.

Interesting .
That's why I love California...weather. I have a colleague who lives in Malibu, surrounded by vistas to die for. Our view ain't all that bad either, but the ones in the picture are truly Zen like locations.
Claw foot tubs, if done right, are very nice indeed... Good taste my friend.
That is a nice suite + must have been a very nice anniversary/vacation...but, you never know. You may go back when you least expect it , of course with your str8 this time.
I hear you bud...
Oooohhhh...I like your fantasy better than mine .Last edited by BladeRunner001; 05-12-2010 at 05:20 AM.

Thanked: 1903Actually, I recently found it:
1926, fully restored (and, thankfully, the B29s had spared it to begin with). Claw foot bathtub, and yes, that stuff is genuine marble. The mirror is vintage Bauhaus. Currently waiting for a razor cabinet to complement the strops on the right.
