Thanked: 0I'm quite partial to Sam Adams Octoberfest, but sadly it's only around in the fall.

I live on the east coast as well and I can find Stone beers at all of the local beverage distributors. Have you checked any of your local beverage stores? Stone is pretty popular and I don't think you should have a problem.
As far as online ordering, I have only ever got beer through "Beer of the Month" clubs and have not seen ordering options outside of that.

Thanked: 1I can always find Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale but never anything else. I have been keen on the IPA ever since somebody forced it upon me at The Yard House in Las Vegas. I will indeed keep looking.

Thanked: 1very true about the Heineken. I one time had to go almost a year without a drop of brew (ahhhhhhh shot me now). I dove right back in with a Heineken on the plane home. I had two....i slept peacefully.

Thanked: 7Smuttynose Robust Porter is pretty tasty. So is Moo Thunder by the guys who make Pork Slap. I'm a heavier beer fan, so I can't really recommend a summer beer for you, other than a nice Pabst. Cold Pabst out of a bottle is probably my favorite beer. So much better than out of the can, not sure why but it is. Also I recommend the beer store thing, I'm in east bumblefudge NY and I can still find decent beer selections. Also I know that Pabst isn't a heavy beer, it's the exception to my rule.

I personally like my beer with a nice amount of flavor, my dad used to drink busch lite and coors and junk like that, but my mom likes dark beer so she turned me onto the good stuff.
I really like Black Butte Porter, and most others from Deschutes Brewery. I'd probably have Guinness draught more often if it wasn't so expensive. Henry Weinhard's classic dark and Belgian style wheat are good too.

Thanked: 983I spent two months in the the U.S years ago, travelled a god chunk in that time and tried many beers. How many micro-brewerys do you blokes need?! I found that the only American beer worth anything was MGD. All the rest you could just tip down the sink.Weak, god-awful stuff for the most part. I even tried that crap we export from here to the states and points in between, Fosters. I know now, why no Australian drinks that swill.
If you like Corona, I would recommend a beer from Western Ausralia called 'Redback'. Drink it with the same twist of lime or lemon. A nice drop indeed. Otherwise you can't go past a beer with the symbol 'XXXX' or Fourex as we call it. A good Queensland beer.
