Thanked: 3Ok than this is easy
When purchasing Cubans you are looking for the exact same thing
You look for with any other premium cigar
Rich color wrapper oily
Even color
Even roll
Across the entire box
Variance is a warning sign
If you do a little research on line
You will get tons of info about what a counterfeit box
Or counterfeit band looks like
Or better yet what the real ones look like
All or most counterfeits have tells and generally glaring ones
My pallet and yours are similar
I've smoked many many Cubans from pre war to current day
They only ones I go back to are
The partagas serie D robusto (favorite of all Cubans)
And the monticristo number 2 ( rarely)
Basically I find the quality and consistency of most Cubans lacking
As all the best mfg left years and years ago
Leaving the industry in Cuba lacking and it's never caught up
I'd try a few singles while your down there
Maybe you'll like em maybe not
But if you only buy em one or two at a time
And research the net for counterfeits with them in your hand
Then smoke em you'll know pretty quick if they are legit
I suggest the serie d should cost about 30.00
Last box I bought from Canada cost me 700.00
From a legit retailer
Good luck and enjoy

Thanked: 3Belinda
Cuban lancero
Horribly counterfeit
Horribly rolled
Horrible looking
But it doesn't taste to bad or burn too bad in the
1st third
If I had to guess I'd say it's a counterfeit from Cuba
Most likely rolled with stolen leaf or cut offs
By factory workers

I haven't posted here for a long time. Quiet night shift, so I passed the time with this and a nice dark roast coffee. Very nice to get paid while relaxing outside the hotel bar. Very glad to have a roof and a heat lamp, the weather's pretty miserable tonight. Posting from my phone so apologies if I messed up the pic.
Edit: Yup, posted it sideways.

Thanked: 237Tonight was a gurkha yakuza. They are pretty pricey, but I paid less than $5 for all the ones I have. So smooth for how potent they are. If you see them on sale I suggest getting as many as you can, they are that good!

Another very quiet night shift at the hotel, so I'm relaxing outside the bar with this cigar and a coffee. Not the best cigar ever, but i've paid more for worse. Pretty roughly rolled, but they taste ok and they're cheap.

An intemperance it's a short mild cigar that my friend who owns the place reccomended since I don't smoke cigars often and really don't know anything much about them. Also picked up a box with dividers made in it to house some razors.

Thanked: 36Had another Quintero just now since it's another quiet night. Worst rolled cigar I've ever had. It was weirdly triangular and a bit cone shaped. If you'd split it lengthwise it would have been really loose on one half and rock solid on the other. Ah well, it was cheap.
